Why do they give a rat's a** if he commits suicide?
Save the money for a worthy cause, and it isn't him.
IMO

I would venture to say that the families of his victims once identified would very much like to see justice handed down to him instead of him taking the cowards way out and committing suicide.

Besides that if there are other victims out there in different areas, I would like for him to talk, he can't do that if he is 6ft under the ground. That isn't to say he would likely do that anyways but you never know.

In response to the smell.

I worked in a funeral home and yes the dead do have a distinct smell to them, however that isn't to say that smell could not be contributed to other things, such as a dead animal or rotted meat, actually that is pretty close to what a decaying body smells like and one that I could recognize instantly. However for the life of me, I can't see how anyone could get used to the smell, its horrid.

it says in this link that they are starting the process of sweeping the house with the FD (ie, taking down walls etc) today. Not sure if they have started yet as yesterday it was reported that they needed special search warrants to do that sort of searching (demo).

He made a living as a scavenger or "scrapper" going through trash and such. Which gave him an excuse to wander around neighborhoods carrying black garbage bags full of stinky stuff...

She's a bit young compared to the known victims but wasn't 1983 while he was in the service? Does anybody know what branch of the service he was in?

Was Sowell a drug dealer that lured his victims to his home???

No sign of that in any of the media reports. Assuming the stories from the survivors accurately represent his normal behavior, he seems to have just been good with a line -- "Wanna come in and have a beer?" Others were just grabbed and dragged inside.

I am hoping that they find out what happened to the rest of the remains that went with the skull they found. I am also wondering why just the one? He buried some, put some in the crawl spaces and left two out, but they weren't dismembered. So why dismember the one?

I read somewhere yesterday that the body that went with the skull was found in the basement.

Thanks. There's an AF base practically in St. Louis; wonder if he ever had occasion to be there? Though if they're checking his service records, they'll figure that out.

I saw that suggestion about ranging outside his area and thought it was very plausible. A person like that could cover a lot of ground even without a car, and not leave much trace.

I'd be willing to take a guess that they are going thru his military records and reports right now and have FBI and military personnel involved, looking at places he lived and getting warrants to access confidential military info, and maybe even search homes he's previously lived in while stationed. And I'm sure (or I hope) they've notified cold case squads in those towns where he was stationed. This guy liked to keep his victims "close", so to speak.

Second Victim Identified in Cleveland Serial Killings

Her mother tells Fox 8 News reporter Lorrie Taylor her daughter hung around in Sowell's neighborhood all the time.

According to Inez Fortson, Telacia had a friend drop her off at Sowell's house, she claimed Sowell was her uncle. . Telacia Fortson leaves behind 3 children.
