Thank you! I hope they do right for her. Bless her tiny little soul. I wonder if they might also take guardianship of the other little girl.
I found the wording of the second paragraph below to be odd. Did Ashley not always live with both parents?

The child's body was claimed on Jan. 14. Ashley's Zhao's paternal grandparents, her father's mother and his sisters from New York are taking care of funeral expenses.
According to the funeral home, Ashley will be flown back to New York where she had previously lived with her grandmother before coming to Ohio a year and a half ago to live with her mother.
I think it's very common in some cultures for young children to live with. The grandmother until they are old enough for school. I know a few families that do this.

I've personally seen this done with Asian families. My cousin's wife sent her only child to live with relatives in Nepal for a year when the child was only a toddler. The owners of the nail salon I go to did the same with their children.

Do you know why they would do this? Would they not want to raise a newborn themselves?
ETA: I wonder how common this is, particularly if living in US. I did find a few articles that pertain to children being raised by grandparents. Some infer it is to allow the parents time to get financially or career established. Here is anither view: http://www.lovelovechina.com/relations/kids-in-china/

Does anyone know what caused this childs death? How come this case is considered a murder and not a case of neglect? What evidence does the police have against the parents? I have seen the you tube video of the preliminary hearing, but it doesn't give much information about the evidence in this case.
Thank you to all websleuthers for putting your time and hearts into these cases. It brings hope to the families and to the websleuthing community that we are all here on this planet to help one another regardless, even if it has no impact on your life. Thank you for all of your courage and kindness, it is all inspiring.:loveyou:
