6’0” 230lbs Brown hair past shoulder length, Brown eyes.

Austen was reported missing by family. He was last seen on Monday March 16, 2026, at 4:40am leaving his apartment at 1175 Newark Road Zanesville.

He was last wearing all black with tan shoes (see above picture of last sighting)

Authorities Trying to Locate Missing Adult - WHIZ - Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting (age is 20, name is spelled as Grindely, probably a typo).

Was Austen heading to work/school? Was it common for him to leave so early or was he upset about something on that particular morning?

Austen's family has been posting a lot of appeals for him. on FB This photo from one of the missing posters family is sharing has a recent award for something, I couldn't blow it up enough to see if there was any clues on the certificate as to the activity. I don't think it's recent as he looks much younger.

Austen’s body has been recovered from the Muskingum River and identified via fingerprints They have no witnesses to confirm what may have happened but foul play is not suspected.

DUNCAN FALLS – A body recovered from the Muskingum River has been identified as 20-year-old Austen Grindley by the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office and Montgomery County Coroner's Office, Sheriff Matt Lutz confirmed with the Times Recorder April 26.

Grindley's body was discovered at approximately 5 p.m. April 22, just upstream of the Duncan Falls dam. A fisherman in the river reported the incident.

Grindley's identity was confirmed via fingerprints, Lutz noted.
