You shouldn't be! The unblurred photo gave me a ton of hope! And there were SEVERAL witnesses who saw him in person and were convinced. And we read their accounts. So why wouldn't anyone take them at their word?

I guess some highlights in hair can do wonders. as for beard, one can grow it or shave it off. But actually, the earlier posted mugshot looks to be of the wrong person, not that I looked at it again.

Idk if anyone found his Twitter yet, but his profile pic shows quite a bit of acne scars. Also could be cause to look like a 'beat up 14 year old' if you're a witness trying to see the good (to quote Gitana). Under a hoodie. Probably looking down/bending over a lot because 'his stomach hurt' (as he claimed).

LE did say that. They said they couldn't confirm anything but that he wasn't a missing person from the Tri-State area (OH-KY-IN). They can't control what the media does. Other than that LE was basically silent, other than saying when they approximately expected the DNA results back. They don't show everything they've got, they never do. I think there was a lot going on behind the scenes with LE and Timmothy's family that we don't know about. LE were basically forced into commenting on it when witnesses spoke to the media. It wasn't LE that came out with a big announcement saying 'we may have found Timmothy Pitzen'.

Exactly. Since none of us were down there looking at him, we can't say what their (I assume you mean the citizens on the street) perception was. He told them he was Timmothy and he was 14. If they hadn't of believed him, people would criticize them for re-victimizing him.

My question was not about a blurry photo from afar and reading about it. It was about the people down there standing in front of him and looking right at this guy. No sane person would mistake him for a 14 year old. That was my only point as people feel badly about being duped and nobody is here looking at him, in person.

And imagine IF that HAD been Timmothy.
And someone thought it wasn't him, ignored him-- and he disappeared again ?

The fact that there are more concerned and compassionate people out there --than lying impostors-- gives me hope.
Better to err on the side of caution.

A lot of people here blaming LE for various things (not taking fingerprints - the guy refused to give them, not shutting down media rumours - not their job, they stated from the beginning they would have no further comment until DNA was back, not realizing he wasn’t 14 - maybe they did, but that’s part of an investigation and why they did DNA, or maybe they didn’t, I would expect a 14 year old who has pontentially lived in horrific abusive situations to possibly look older and more ragged).

Regardless, the only person who can be blamed right now is the loser con artist.
