OMG. This story is really unbelievable. I can't figure who would make up a random story like that. I hope the kid gets taken care of and the perps found. So bizarre.

APD continues to lead the investigation into the Timmothy's disappearance. The FBI will support this investigation in any way possible. Anyone with genuine information about the case is asked to call the APD at 630-256-5000 or the NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).

Maybe this boy has a horrible home life (someone is beating him) and thought that by assuming the identity of a missing child would allow him a home that would be happy to have him. ?? Just trying to make sense of his reasoning..........

Oh my. They need to find out what happened to this poor kid who is NOT Timmothy per the FBI...

This will hopefully make people more aware of the number of missing/ abducted kids, figure out who this boy is and if he is in a dangerous situation. Lastly, it has sparked a reminder for Timmothy Pitzen and maybe someone that knows something is finally ready to talk.

Prayers for this kid.

Well I know many people on here are saying this case was not very well known (and I know I'm biased from being from the same town), but I don't think that's really true. Timmothy's case has been featured on 20/20, Nancy Grace, The Hunt with John Walsh, and Crime Watch Daily. If they were only asking him basic questions, then many answers could have been gleaned simply from watching segments on these shows.

My thoughts are with the Pitzen family. I'm sure they were more optimistic than anyone because they wanted it to be him so badly.

Wonder who this person is....what motivated them to claim they are a missing person vs themself. The repeated beatings give me a pretty good idea of why they're not at home, but where is home?

I can't imagine how heartbreaking this must be for the Pitzens. I hope that we can learn soon who this boy is, and what went on. It's hard to hold on hope now that Timmothy will ever be found...

The only good thing that comes from this, at least the whole world knows Timmothy’s name and story now. If anything, just brought soo much attention to his case and hopefully investigators dig deeper

Yeah, until I know more about the situation then I am going to stand by the idea that this young man was in a horrible situation and was grasping at a way to get out. I'm not an optimist by nature, but this story is already sad all the way around.

But WHO is he ?
How did he know answers that only Timmothy might know ? (according to one of Timmothy's relatives)
Did he ever meet him ?

I think the aunt who said that meant he is being asked questions that only Timmothy would know the answers to, not that he got them right. IMO

So disappointed with this news, my heart breaks for his family going through this. If he is only 14 we may not find out who he is. I hope LE at least give some answers to this ordeal.
