@branmuffin
I wonder the same thing about the neighbor. Did the neighbor go to the bar also? If so, did they go together or was it just random chance they were at the same bar?
Also, wondering about how well the two knew each other.
Im unsure how well he knew the neighbor,, it is believed that they left crocker together to head to cleveland to meet the gorls boufriend

I see where you stated it’s been confirmed he was spotted crossing to the West Bank. Is there a link or some type of source in which you can share to verify. This in no way means I am questioning you. I’m asking due to WS rules.

I hate that Caleb is missing. He seems like a great guy. Those following Caleb’s thread here on WS will continue checking for new info & updates.
Here is the link to his missing person flier that is in his facebook group "Bring Caleb Home" Bring Caleb Marple Home

Groups of volunteers search for missing Westlake man

This article states Caleb’s sister went to his house, noticed his vehicle there & nothing out of place. It also states she found his place unlocked.

Couple of questions come up:
•is it common for Caleb to leave his door unlocked?
•what caused his sister to go check his home? Did someone call her? It couldn’t have been LE because a missing persons report wasn’t filed yet; she was the one that did that.
As strange as it seems,, It was very common for Caleb to leave doors unlocked . His sister went to his place to get his phone - the neighbor he had gone out with had the phone for a day/day and a half- the sister wasnt getting a response from Caleb and finally neighbor texted the sister back saying she had his phone

It might be a good idea to correct some of the assumptions that people are running with in the comments section, ie, that he left his phone in an Uber.

Bring Caleb Marple Home

The author of this page answered the que about his friends not speaking out. Their response was now that this “find” page has been created hopefully they will start sharing anything they may know.
Author also poses a question as well...asking the names of the friends he was with that night at the bar. These friends are people he just met since moving to Westlake.

Please SHARE! Caleb is still missing one week as of today (5/24)!

He was last seen on the West Bank of the flats on Center St. and Washington Ave.

There are many cameras on the residential and business buildings. If you know anyone that has access to the footage from that night, please contact Cleveland PD, send a private Facebook message, or you can send an email to [email protected]

We are particularly interested in footage from 5.18.20 Sunday night (technically early Monday morning), between the hours of of 12am to 5am.

At this point, we know he was at that intersection, but have no additional footage of which direction he traveled from that point. Our search efforts yesterday on the West Bank for any clues came up empty.
He may have traveled up towards Detroit Ave. or W.25th St. He may be on private property on the West Bank, which we don't have access to. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated!

I agree! If the phone being left in an UBER is false, then posting that info on the fb page would be very helpful.

First of all, let me say I'm sorry the stress and worry that Caleb's disappearance is causing his friends and family.

I'm trying to get a handle the circumstances that led up to Caleb's disappearance.

Caleb left his home in Crocker to go to downtown Cleveland to the BH. Did he go by himself? Were the people who identified him as being at the BH his friends, people who worked there or was it from cctv footage? If it was his friends what was his demeanor? Someone stated he sat outside the bar briefly. Is that because he was upset? Had he had an argument with someone? Or was he just a bit too intoxicated to stand? Did he leave on his own volition? I can see that after closures of two months there would have been lots of celebrating freedom.

I see the distance from the Crocker neighbourhood to the BH is over six miles which makes it outside of what most people would walk. So I presume he got to the brewpub either by taxi, Uber or with a friend who drove there with him. Especially since Caleb's own vehicle was found at home. I would hazard a guess that cabs and ride sharing companies would have been inundated with requests. If Caleb is like me and my friends and we found out we'd have to wait a long time for a ride he might have just walked for a while hoping to hail a cab or something. If he did do that what would have been the best route to start the walk?

He was verified as being at the BH and left around midnight. Can someone verify whether or not Ohio and specifically Cleveland had lifted the closures of pubs and restaurants? When I go on the internet it appears that many places are still closed. Were Crocker neighbourhood bars and restaurants open at the same time the BH was? And if they were would he have stopped in for a nightcap before heading home?

Was the neighbour just a neighbour, an acquaintence or a friend? Did Caleb go out with the neighbour that night? And if he did, did he get to the BH in their vehicle?

As a close family friend has stated, the Uber aspect cannot be verified. What about the neighbour having Caleb's phone? Is that verified?

I live around Cleveland. Crocker Park is actually more like 15 miles away...enough that I was thinking the Uber bill would be ridiculous. As for handing the neighbor the cell phone, I believed that part. Crocker Park is in Westlake, a wealthy suburb with low crime, and people tend to be very trusting here.

Actually leaving the house unlocked doesn’t sound strange to me but I also live in a town of 500!

Hi Jes W8!

I came here when I saw Caleb's flyer shared on Facebook - knew I'd have the best chance of getting more info here. I'm a lifelong westsider. My heart breaks for Caleb's family and friends.

Do you think they could have been headed to Harbor Inn or McCarthys? Not sure how open things are in the Flats lately.

@Jes W8 Has anyone spoken to the neighbour's boyfriend who went to the BH with Caleb? Have you found how they all traveled to the BH? I'm just wondering if Caleb went to the BH with his neighbour and her boyfriend and they left without him and his phone was in their car. Do you know if LE have spoken to them?

Bring Caleb Marple Home

Caleb was last seen in downtown Cleveland leaving The Barley House shortly after 12am, and is believed to have been on foot heading towards the areas of the Archer Apartment Building or Center Street Bridge.

He does not wear glasses or have any tattoos.
He has a beard and almost always wears a hat - usually for a Cleveland sports team.

Caleb is a resident of Westlake, OH and is from Avon, OH. He attended Open Door, Avon High School and Cleveland State University.

That seems like the only thing that makes sense is a personal vehicle if there was no taxi/Uber.

Nobody's going to walk there from Crocker Park. You probably could take an RTA bus or drive to the Rapid station and take that down, but at night those run a lot less frequently and don't always feel as safe unless it's rush hour or a game day crowd or something. I don't actually know anyone who does that to get to W. 6th otherwise, even though it's technically possible. The Waterfront Line does have a stop at Settler's Landing, but it looks like it only runs there between 7A-7P. Not sure if it's always been that way, or if that's just a Covid thing.

Most pics I've seen of Caleb are from sporting events. He seems like someone who would have been pretty familiar with downtown and unlikely to get too lost.

I was wondering if he was familiar with the BH because he worked in the area.

Likely. It's a pretty popular place, as is W. 6th St. generally. When I (and Caleb) was younger, the Flats was the cool place to go downtown for nightlife. Then that kind of died off, and W. 6th became more the place to be. Lately the Flats has been coming back too.

Harbor Inn is a popular place too. It's been around for at least a hundred years, and is still a local favorite, but most importantly it's very near the parking lot where he was last seen.

So he goes out with his lady neighbor and his GF. He gives her his phone to tuck away and then at some point and I’d assume several drinks he takes off. Totally believable bc one of my friends does the same. What do you anticipate he would do? Would he go to another spot? Is there a lady he likes to visit after nights like these? Also, why would the lady neighbor not answer the sisters calls immediately?

it is believed they left Crocker together to head to Cleveland and meet the neighbor together ,,, I believe they were all at the BH together-Im unsure as to how long they knew each other ,, I want to say that its been said that he recently started hanging out with her (Maybe w/in the past year?)

From what I understand - he goes out w/ his lady neighbor to meet her boyfriend. It is unclear as to why she had his phone and decided to keep it for so long . I wish I had these answers!
