If I were the county prosecutor I would be trying this case now, our suspect is laughing his butt off because he knows they have nothing...

I hate to say it but our justice system sucks, and the “bad guys” know this , they know if they ever get caught up with their respective trials could drag out years....for example..

There is a case where a mother killed her three young children, in 2014/2015 she was arrested in 2015, but her trial keeps getting delayed, personally I think it’s for the lawyers to rack up billable hours.....

The Pike county murders the state and county dragging their feet .....

There’s another case of a high school girl who gave birth, the baby took a breath, she killed it and burned it in the families backyard burnpit, this case has been dragging ......

I follow these cases and the dragging of feet and delays make me sick, as I said above I think it’s just lawyers racking up billable hours ,

What ever happened to a speedy trial , my god the longer these cases drag out witnesses get older, die off , or a witnesses memory gets fuzzy, lousey system....

I share your frustration. LE clearly does not have enough evidence. Maybe Bill is innocent. I sleep at night in the greatest nation knowing due diligence and due process is king. The way that sways may not be the way we like.

If he strangled her, her claw marks to survive would be all over him, and all he has are these injuries to the back of the arms above the elbow. I always wondered if he was fighting to hold her down to drown her in the shower and his arms were abrasively rubbing against the tub. But the affidavits also suggest LE witnessed swollen knuckles. Jesus, I can't believe this case has gone cold and silent.

Scratches on the back of the arms above the elbow as it was described could be consistent with a victim that is facing away from the perpetrator and at a significantly lower height but not "flat" on the ground so on knees or sitting for example. If using a device for strangulation such as shoe laces, rope or wire, for example, and pulling tight results in lifting the head and upper body of the victim then the back of the perpetrators upper arms would likely be the only body parts in range of the victims hands fighting the attack.

This little pesky 6 th amendmentof the US Constitution, comes into play,
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed..

This Cheryl Coker case is very frustrating, because I still feel and I will be head strong is police goofed up this case in the beginning and now the victim is the one who pays the price, ......they get forgotten...

Those other cases I wrote about , are they intentionally giving the accused grounds for appeal....

For example the Pike County murders ( 8 members of one family murdered over a stupid child custody battle WTF!

Then the prosecutor dropped the charges against the grandmother...WTF!

I know this is a death penalty case , the prosecution has had two years getting their case together, I am 61 years old, I will never see the conclusion of this case because of their games...

Sorry if I seem very bitter with the justice system, but I am fed up,with our crappy justice system that seems to worry more about the rights of the criminal than the victim....

My family went through 30 plus years of b/s with the legal system with our murder case.

My sister is a paralegal, not in Ohio, for defense lawyers, and she has repeatly said in today’s system it’s delay, delay , delay , billable hours, more billable hours, it’s like their more interested in paying their monthly Jaguar car payment.....

So in Cheryl’s case unless directions to her body, or her body itself is Fedexed to LE this case will never be solved......

I wish the police would have a forum, just for this case, so people like us , can deliver our theory’s on a case that’s gone cold, maybe listening to our theory’s can spark new case Directions not thought of..

I firmly believe crimes are solved by the public input

I relation to the Coker case, the area of the mass shooting is about a 10 minute drive from Riverside, our area is stunned right now.....

With today’s mass shooting in our neighborhood and El Paso, yesterday , the Pike Cty murders and the Coker case, and other cases where the innocent are taken early at the hands of monsters, I am a firm believer in the death penalty, my feeling is you take a life , you pay with yours, and the day William Coker is ever convicted I think he deserves the death penalty...I don’t care what his reasoning was but he had no right to kill her, and I feel that other suspects across the country who kidnap and murder people deserve to die themselves....

The only positive thing of the Dayton shooting is the Dayton Police engaged early, and terminated this or coward before he could hurt more innocent people.....

Holy crap I just got home from work and was stunned to learn of another senseless massacre. 24 year old...and I think the Texas person was 21. Jesus, why can't the young cope these days?

Tooltime, you have every right to be bitter by the justice system based on your past experiences. I would be if I were in your shoes. I think the whole speedy trial thing for an accused is rarely practiced. Most defendants wave it to allow their defense team to prepare a worthy defense. Others correct me if I'm wrong.

I pray for more lawful carriers out there to protect us from the loons. Police can only do so much since dispatchers convey and then they have travel time. Love concealed carriers that may be ready at a moment's notice.

I am so sorry to hear about the shooting! I've been out mountain biking all day and had no idea this happened. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their family and friends, and your community.

I do see some similarities, between the Coker case and the Dayton Shooter Connor Betts, in the active shooter case here he had severe issues at high school with hit lists and (yes) rape lists, ( oh boy) , nothing done , then one of the victims yesterday in Dayton he murdered his sister, this individual had some serious issues, he lived at home with mom and dad in Bellbrook, in a very nice well to do neighborhood..

In the Coker case what signals were visible before Cheryl turned up missing and presumed murdered, the one signal to me and it’s been bothering me since day one is the older daughters comment on Facebook page about ( you’ve been kidnapped) , William had a lot of references to the same type of weapons used in El Paso and Dayton, on his Facebook, then Cheryl’s cryptic text messages.....

By ignoring the obvious we have 9 people dead, please take the time and review the bios on the deceased, it will break your heart...

I am glad the Dayton police terminated this freak so he will not be a burden to society ever again, I really wish the El Paso police would have done the same, now it will all be about him...typical legal system....some smartass lawyer will bring his kindergarten teacher in, and he will play up I am mentally ill ...

I picture William our suspect in the Coker case using that play card when he gets caught....

The older daughter's reference was nothing nefarious. It was a shared post, not one she created, and hundreds of thousands share similar "what would you do" posts every day...particularly young adults. It's kind of like a personality meter reveal on social media, if that makes any sense.

This piece lived with his parents. It's a damn shame they're labeled "adults" and the parents get to walk away without hard examination and explanation. I'm not a big "blame the parents," but many 20+ year olds are really immature these days and don't have the accountability and independence they would have had years ago. If your big baby is living under your roof, you should know what they're doing and what weapons they've got in their rooms, who they're hanging out with, what their priorities are, and what their attitudes are.

Mentally ill my . Entitled is more like it. Yes, there were signs with these wastes, and you make a valid point that there were signs in Cheryl's life too.

I have been driving around the area and only have seen one Cheryl Strong yard sign, the most disturbing was when you walk through the automatic doors at the Kroger store , there is a bulletin board on the left where Cheryl’s missing persons poster was posted, I noted two different individuals thumbtacked their respective yard sale signs over Cheryl’s poster, it goes to show the lack of interest from residents in the neighborhood,
I wonder what Cheryl’s mom thought, I’m assuming she must shop here since the store is in eye shot of her home...

The one thing I find disturbing , is since the Dayton mass shooting the investigation of the shooter has encompassed a large circle which ties up different police agencies, thank goodness the FBI is taking a larger role as of tonight, this puts cases like Cheryl’s on ice....

The sad thing that I realized today we are getting close to the one year anniversary of her disappearance, which if my math is correct is 57 days away.....

I'm disturbed to know people are tacking yard sale flyers over Cheryl's missing poster. Who does that? Jeez. People have no respect these days. I don't care if I was into the Cheryl Strong initiative or not, I wouldn't post anything of my own over ANYONE's missing person poster period. Not good karma.

At peace our president is visiting Ohio, and am hopeful he can help put change in place. I don't necessarily agree that video games are to blame, but agree that mental heath policies and gun procurement policies need to be revamped at the state level. I understand this young man had a lot of flags through high school, but the state of Ohio resets all records to null at 18. That's a huge problem, as I assume most states have the same policy. Our fed and background checks need a taskforce to investigate social media like nobody's business to weed out these screw ups fast and fierce. You want a semi-automatic or weapon of any kind, but there's record of you having a rape and kill list in hs, well, you're looking at a 2-year severe probe of your life, so strap yourself in you piece of crap. At the end, you'll wish you never asked lol.

In regards to Cheryl, I assume her baby will drive herself to school. I think she has her own new vehicle.

I am very glad the President came to Dayton this morning it was impressive to see Air Force One takeoff over my home , where I reside on Wright Patterson, the runway is very close..

I am going to show some huge flags this shooter was giving off prior, while in high school he had a hit list and a rape list, the school suspended him and let him back in, ( good job guys)
Just recently back on May 25 th , there was a KKK rally being held in Dayton, our shooter was interviewed and photgraphed by our local newspaper and tv station , protesting with a black mask, but get this he was protesting he was waving around the same weopon he used to kill these people on Sunday am ( WTF , good job guys)..
Then he was bragging to his friends with a handgun in his hand that he wanted to shoot up Timothys Pub, which is near the university..( his friends should have went to police, good job guys)

I put the sole blame on his parents ( he lived at home), the school, his friends, the police.....but the left wing knuckleheads around here would rather blame the president instead of looking in the mirror at their failures.....

And I will make the connection with the Coker case, let’s go back 6 months, how many signals were in plain sight but ignored..

Our society has NO respect for each other, todays motto is ( me, myself, and I ), that’s worrisome to me , I think there is other witnesses out there , but won’t come foreword, because of the above motto, or just don’t want to be bothered..

One good example, the day Cheryl’s SUV was brought to the Kroger parking lot, I have been in that parking lot a million times, the entrances and exits are tight, the lot is tight, and there is always a lot of traffic , so you cannot tell me nobody saw who was driving her SUV that morning, who got out, either these people are legally blind or ignorant..
I am very observant of my surroundings, maybe it’s my Air Force days of the times I sat in the cockpit during flight as a safety observer, or being in the war zones on the ground being vigilant of your surroundings so you don’t get killed...

So I firmly believe other drivers saw things, but are being quiet..

Because of your Air Force days, I think you are MUCH more inclined to be observant than most of us lay people. I don't believe there are any people out there that witnessed anything in the parking lot but are being quiet about it...I think the silence is because nobody noticed anything.

I agree about the the overt signals out there in regards to the Coker relationship. Honestly, the hardest part for me was reading Bill & his GF's affidavit about Cheryl's behavior. It's extremely BOLD AND COLD for people who claim to have been very "close to her". After all, GF and Cheryl were close friends, according the affidavit; Cheryl pushed their relationship, according to affidavit. So, if these 3 were "that tight", why does Bill and GF have no CARE OR CONCERN THAT SHE'S MISSING?

If the affidavit is truthful, that relationship arrangements seem disgusting to me, lacking in the morals department......

I was thinking on the way to Kroger this am, about this affidavit, I could see one possible reason where the public’s interest in this case is not great, I see the neighborhood as the majority be old or elderly , St Helens Catholic Church is right here and the devote Catholics would frown on this behavior.....so the interest level is not there.....

This is what irks me- whether they had an open marriage or not, whether they were swingers or not, even if she was a prostitute, which she wasn't, she is missing! Missing! She deserves the same right to be found as a church person or anyone else. Her family and dear friends have a right to know what happened to her, and if she is deceased, she is entitled to a proper burial.

I get what you are saying, @tooltimetim - we see it on cases on here all of the time. Not the posters here necessarily, but other places. Judgments are made and less interest is given to some women because they don't follow the norms that some of society deem worthy of being helped.

I don't five a flying fig Newton if she had a new partner every week- that doesn't take away from the fact that she is gone, no one has heard from her, and seemingly she's gone without a trace.

I really believe this case has gone cold and may never be solved. The lack of updates by LE is all telling, in my opinion.
