OMG I wonder if Cheryl's been found? Holding a PC IMO means something big has happened. Maybe an arrest?

No suspect information has been released, and no arrests have been made.

Investigators say whoever is responsible for Coker's disappearance likely knew her.

Police will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. Tuesday to release more information on Coker's disappearance.

2 NEWS will have a crew at the press conference and will provide updates on air and online as the story develops.

So at this point we are not sure if Williams POI status changed to suspect or is there someone else who graduated to the top of the list
Playing games like this only puts everyone else at risk, what happens if their so called suspect snaps one day and injuries the innocent
Respectfully, you have confused well planned, investigative techniques with playing games IMO. Every case and every suspect is different. LE has to determine which techniques will work best with each individual's personality. JMO but chances are good the suspect is under surveillance.

Good grief, what's the press conference for, then? We all know that information already. I hope they have something important to tell us. Thanks for posting, @Tillicum . Keeping fingers crossed that they at least have some evidence as to what happened to Cheryl. This is just maddening- I feel so bad for her family and friends.

I find the quote "Investigators say whoever is responsible for Coker's disappearance likely knew her." intriguing. Did they think before it was a stranger? Or are they leaning towards someone else being a suspect besides her husband?

That would be good if they found her. End this constant worry and grief for her family and friends. I know they've been searching for Cheryl on their own. I hope they get answers soon.

In late December they seemed to have ruled out a stranger.

Chief Robinson suspects that any potential suspect had to be close to Coker.

“This is one of those cases that I think is very close knit. There are some different players involved and we have spoken to every one of those people. Today, we had some key interviews with folks who had information,” he said.

With the recent flooding we've had, it's possible evidence or remains have been exposed. It wouldn't necessarily have to be found during a search, could be stumbled across by anyone. Maybe I'm grasping at straws but I so hope Cheryl can be found.

Wyome, I never mentioned where they were going in Florida. It was to DisneyWorld for a Harry Potter VIP thing which was a 4 day event.

Thanks. Sounds like this trip was centered around the teenager's interest, well-planned, and despite their marital troubles, one of them was going to accompany their child so that she would not be disappointed. What a weird trip to take your gf on, though, with your teenage daughter, while you're still married. That gf has girls of her own. You'd think she'd have been sense than to go on a trip like that with a married man and his daughter. Gross.

If no one has answered this, I believe they, husband et. al., left for FL on Thursday 9/27) before Cheryl disappeared. They returned Mon. 10/1 around 11pm. Cheryl not heard from after 7:45am Tues 10/2 per Det. Abney in local media interview all electronic communication from her abruptly stopped around that time. So also per Search Warrant affidavit, William stated he did not speak to Cheryl on 10/1 Mon eve when he returned from FL at 11pm. He went to bed in the basement. So that's pretty suspicious. They were the only 2 at the residence it seems.
I dont know when Cheryl pulled out of the vacation. But my theory is when she decided to file for divorce because he would not give up gf and try to work on their marriage. But Cheryl was on vacation from work those same days so she originally planned on going. She was due back at work that Tuesday morning she disappeared.

Thanks for this recap. I did not know that Bill claims he immediately went to basement to sleep upon arriving home on Monday night and never saw Cheryl. I hope her younger daughter spent some time with her before going to bed that night...a really nice, long, sweet exchange and embrace.

And there we have it. LE had much more information than some folks thought. A couple of quotes from that article stand out to me:

Surveillance video shows Cheryl's 2016 Toyota Highlander driving into the Kroger parking lot at Spinning and Burkhardt — less than a mile from her home — at 10:52 a.m. The footage shows a subject dressed in all black, who appears to have their hood pulled up, exit the vehicle and walk north through the parking lot toward Burkhardt Road.

and

At 11:13 a.m., a citizen called 911 to report a suspicious white male dressed in all black with his hood pulled up.

and

Surveillance video from Spinning Hills Middle School shows a male, who police say is suspected of being the same man who exited the vehicle, walking on school property and toward the back of the Coker residence. The man is wearing all black and white gloves.

That evening, William Coker was seen entering the Kroger on Spinning Road. Surveillance images show an injury above Coker’s left elbow, according to police.

Now there is no doubt who the suspect is. Kudos to LE for keeping all of this information under wraps. I hope they arrest him now, and I pray he tells them where Cheryl's body is- I am not holding my breath that he will, but we can hope.

If you listen to the video on that link, they report the 911 call made by a gentleman who spotted the white male with a black hoodie on who looked suspicious. He tries to conceal his face twice, once with both hands. He couldn't have acted more suspicious if he tried.

He's going down.

And if they think their suspect murdered Cheryl, would they risk this witness's safety by releasing the 911 call if their suspect hasn't been arrested yet?
