I don't have the answer to that but in most cases when LE is silent it's because they don't need the public's help. JMO that LE has gotten noisy recently as part of their strategy in regards to getting someone in particular to talk. We learned last week that 2 different people reported the guy in the black hoodie back in the early days. How many other reports did the public call in that we don't know about? There's no way to know how many people witnessed activity relevant to this case that has moved the investigation along from the beginning. If they weren't getting informative tips, then LE would've been out there pleading for tips all the time. All JMO.
