Local doctor reported missing in Lucas County

Records from the sheriff’s office say family members reported Cletus Iwuagwu, 71, of Holland, missing on Nov. 25.

HOLLAND, Ohio (WTVG) - Authorities in Lucas County are looking for a missing doctor who was last seen on Nov. 24. There are concerns for his safety.

Records from the sheriff’s office say family members reported Dr. Cletus Iwuagwu, 71, of Holland, missing on Nov. 25. He practices geriatric medicine, according to the UToledo physicians website.

Family last saw him around 8 p.m. in his office on Nov. 24.

Cletus Iwuagwu was last seen in Holland around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to contact them.

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has been working alongside Toledo's and Springfield Township's fire departments, focusing searches in the Stone Oak neighborhood, nearby bodies of waters and wooded areas.

Search efforts with drones, sonar and cadaver dogs continued on Friday.

"We ran a drone through the area, searched the body of water in the surrounding area, and then Toledo Fire put a boat in there with a side sonar and did a sonar sweep of the body of water," LCSO Lt. Jonathan Leach said, while officers were doing searches in the neighborhood. "So far we have not been able to locate Dr. Iwuagwu."

So he was last seen on surveillance at 2am near his house, yet his family last saw him at 8pm in his office and his daughter was getting his locations updates on her phone (I wonder if through life360 or from him communicating with her)... and I presume this is all in the night of the 24th?

"Dr. Iwuagwu was last seen on November 25, 2025. (I'm assuming that's the video at 2:15 am on the 25th?) His family says he had recently been released from the hospital and had returned home prior to his disappearance. A relative also reported seeing him at his office on November 24."

Body of missing doctor found in pond Thursday, Lucas County Sheriff's Office says

The body of Cletus Iwuagwu, 71, was found Thursday in a pond in the Stone Oak area by people who were on a walk, Lucas County Sheriff's Deputy Jon Leach said.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The search for a missing doctor has ended with the discovery of his body in a pond on Christmas Day.

The body of Cletus Iwuagwu, a 71-year-old doctor from Holland reported missing exactly one month ago, was recovered Thursday afternoon from a pond near the Stone Oak area, according to Lucas County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jon Leach. People who were walking in the area reported seeing the body in the lake.

Cause of death released for missing Toledo doctor whose body was found in lake

The body of a doctor who was last seen on Nov. 24 was found Thursday in Orchard Lake.

According to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, the body of Dr. Cletus Iwuagwu was found in Orchard Lake near Stone Oak Country Club on Dec. 25. The Springfield Fire Department pulled his body from the water.

The coroner’s office said Friday he died of drowning, adding that there were no signs of trauma or foul play.
