Found Deceased OH - Cory Barron, 22, Cleveland, 18 July 2014

This is so sad. I would have never have thought of anything like this. I thought he would have may wandered off.

Around here, they tuck dumpsters in cubbys, usually with some kind of fence surrounding 3 sides of them. They're not out in the open usually and most of the time there is no designated parking near them. Also if they are the big ones that have the side openings, it would be easy for two people to flip someone in one.

I wonder if he was lured outside and jumped.

I read a couple comments yesterday underneath an article from one of the news stations where someone said he was kicked out of the venue for intoxication. I have no link to back this up or who knows how reliable the source was. If that were the case, wouldn't the security guards remember or wouldn't this be on the cameras? I wish we could hear more from the friend who he went to go hang out with at the venue!

I saw these comments too. Which makes me question if this tragedy isn't a result of an altercation with security guards. I've been to many concerts where security has been rather aggressive and I've seen people hauled out right in front of me...you don't really question it when it's happening. That could be why no one noticed anything - it's not terribly uncommon. It sounds as though he was rather intoxicated...perhaps they wanted to "teach him a lesson" and took him outside (near the dumspters, where no concert-goers would be...?) and it went (way) too far. My other thought being, I don't see anything happening at the concert WITHOUT security noticing. It's their job and they from what I've seen they take it pretty seriously. This is purely speculation based on my own experiences at concerts. I'd rather be wrong. Security is meant to be there to protect people, and for the most part, they do.

I fully agree that there is no way only one person got him into that dumpster.

Prayers for Cory's family. I can't imagine the heartbreak.

There was a rumor he was escorted out by security for intoxication, he would have been outside of the gates, presumably alone and intoxicated.

this. this makes the most sense to me so far. and one or 2 of those big security guards could easily toss him into a dumpster. they also might be familiar with where cameras are located.

Lucy where did you get this information from? I am trying to locate the media information and can not find a single thing. The last thing posted about him was four hours ago. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/07/cory_barrons_family_hasnt_left.html

Here it is.
http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/07/body_of_cory_barron_found_in_l.html

I asked his sister about him being escorted out by security because I read that as well, and that was the first that the family had heard about it so I believe that was just a rumor.

Did they say what they were basing this on??

Did they say what they were basing this on??

nope. they said he had his wallet, id, and ticket on him and that its possible he could have climbed in the dumpster on his own.. such an odd thing to say for seemingly no reason. so he just climbed in a dumpster instead of enjoying a concert he paid for and then died? yea i dont think so. ive been pretty drunk but ive never had the desire to climb into a dumpster.

to me it doesn't make sense and doesn't explain how this could have happened. Also noted the tweet just below that alludes to blood in a restroom? IMO still too early to know much.

I'm about an hour south of Cleveland. I was really hoping to hear good news about this poor guy. So sad. On this twitter link someone posted, it was mentioned something about blood that was found in a restroom. Not many details yet on that part. I think that info could've possibly been called into a local radio station show, but not totally sure yet.

I don't know how things are set-up there at Progressive with the chute and dumpsters, but this doesn't sound like an accident. Although I'd much rather hear that it actually was an accident. Either way such a sad outcome.

MOO.

This would make sense, and explain how he ended up in the dumpster without anyone noticing.

it also says no signs of injury. ive never falllen down a garbage chute, but wouldn't there be some bumps and bruises?

Especially if it was enough to kill him?

Also, I've never worked in a stadium, but I have to wonder how someone from the general public would have access to the garbage chute. That doesn't seem like something security would allow or not notice. In my opinion.

From your link:
"It's quite a ways down," Chura said. "At least five or six stories."

Chura said it looks like Barron may have fallen or crawled into the chute, but stressed that the matter was still under investigation currently as a homicide, until detectives and the Lorain County Coroner rule out foul play.
