OH OH - Darryl L Walters, Cherry Fork, Portsmouth

  • #21
When I was growing up he actually lived a few house down from me in Portsmouth, Oh. He was a friend of the family and would come over some times. He killed a friend of mine when I was about 12 (26 now)and it got ruled as a firearm accident, makes you wonder if it was an accident now he confessed to all of this. Crazy stuff but everyone from Portsmouth is crazy in my opinion. I left there when I was 18 and never looked back.

I just need to come out and say something about this guy okay especially with the first comment I know the man that killed those three women one of those women with my mother I was 18 years old at the time he brutally beat her to death in a wooded area and left her there by the grace of God within 24 hours of him killing her somebody was walking their dog and found her. So unless you know what it's like to go for years wondering if that guy still out there or if he's trying to find you because he killed your mom why wouldn't he come for you next you have no idea what you're talking about! I am 39 years old now and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about this this man deserves the death penalty for what he did but instead they just gave him life without parole and he's just going to sit there and get comfortable in prison and trust me he is and he was my brother was there and seen him. Needless to say you know s*** happens he's still alive I prayed every day for them to find that man and I'm not even a god-fearing person what he did for those women you guys don't even have any idea it was horrible he waited until after he killed them rape them sodomized them God only knows what else I don't even want to think about it but it just lit me on fire over something as simple as that first message this man should have never been released from prison in the 90s when she killed a 12 year old boy from negligent homicide but that's our justice system.

You tell me did this woman deserve to die because of some sick twisted man that hated women? Nobody deserves to die at the hand of another no matter what the situation and it took me a long time to come to understand this can't say I forgive him I can wish that I can forget him though I doubt that'll ever happen so before you go running your mouth about something you don't know nothing about maybe you should do a little bit more research!

He was arrested in the county where I live. It didn't say what town he was arrested in in the article, but I am curious to know.

In the second article linked here, it says DNA was taken at the correctional facility. To my knowledge Elkhart county does not routinely take the DNA of drunk driving arrests.
Darrell Walters was being housed in a prison anytime you go into the prison system no matter what state it is in you automatically are swabbed for DNA it's mandatory and thank God because had it not been a mandatory thing instead of 4 years to find my mom's killer they could have never found him.

Eligible for parole in 2037
This man may be eligible for parole and 2037 for the first murder but then he has to serve another 18 years he's never going to see the lighted day again free and I'll be there at that parole hearing each and every time until the day I die or he dies first

Many SKs will pick drug abusers or prostitutes as they figure them "easy targets".
He only needs 3 victims in between "cooling off" periods to be a serial killer.. In today's world a lot of people are used to these SKs whose image is reinforced through movies and have a ton of victims.
Just because somebody's a drug user or they are a prostitute don't mean they don't have family that cares about them you know it could have been me instead of my mom and two of my really close friends and we don't always stay stuck in that rut a lot of addicts do my mom wasn't an everyday addict nor was she an everyday prostitute.

Sorry to bump this - I just started reading it and find it interesting as my Aunt went missing in Portsmouth ~4 mos before his charge of negligent homicide
I'm sorry that your aunt went missing from Portsmouth Ohio my mom was one of the people actually my mom was the one that the DNA matched up on it took four years for them to find out that he was the one that killed her I'm not sure if you gotten the information to put your soul ease a little more yet but I really hope you did and if not don't lose hope. Because the first girl that he killed it was 12 years from the time he killed her to the time that they solved the murder
