Found Deceased OH - David Hallman, 21, Granville, 8 February 2014

GRANVILLE — Police have asked for the public’s help finding missing 21-year-old Denison University student David Hallman III.

Granville police have confirmed they were searching door-to-door in the village earlier in the night but are not at this time, according to Chief Jim Mason.

Mason said Granville police do not know the circumstances of why Hallman has gone missing, but the weather is the main concern.

“We are concerned because he is not making himself available to his friends or his family,” Mason said.

Denison confirmed that it, too, has been actively searching the campus.

Mason said that students going missing from Denison “happens occasionally.”

The student, last seen about 2 a.m. today leaving Brew’s Cafe, 116 E. Broadway, was wearing a black North Face jacket, a navy blue dress shirt and blue jeans.

Hallman, from Pennsylvania, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

He is listed a member of the Big Red swim team.

Attractive young man, seems intelligent from posts on FB, upbeat from what I can tell...left the bar at 2am alone? Was he drunk? If so, why didn't someone go with him to make sure he got back to his dorm or apartment?

He was really close to the university. Hopefully he didn't wander into the lake that is on this map.

That water concerned me as well. I guess we'll have to wait for further details to see if that came into play in his death.

Besides that news article, I can't either. I do see Denison Students tweeting about it, but I realize that's not a solid source.

Yes, it seems like it all happened really quickly, in terms of them reporting he was missing and then reporting he was found....probably under 8 hours. His actual death was just reported within the last 15 minutes.

Two thoughts. Alcohol poisoning or he passed out and died from hypothermia.
Just a guess.
