OH OH - Delisa Smith, 45, Springfield, Oct 2018

Delisa Smith was reported missing on Nov. 23, her daughter said the last time she saw her mom was in late October. Her mom was homeless at the time she went missing. Smith was staying at Interfaith Hospitality Network in downtown Springfield.

She said it’s not like her mom to miss special occasions. She said Smith wasn’t there for her son’s birthday, her birthday or Thanksgiving. If she doesn’t stop by her home, her mom at least calls.

Smith is described as a white female, with black hair and brown eyes. She stands five feet, four inches tall.

There are sometimes precursors to homelessness, like mental health issues and substance abuse, that make it difficult to help someone and also care for a family. It sounds like daughter maintained positive communications with mother. Maybe she recognized that’s the most she could do absent a radical change by mother.
