GUILTY OH - Emilliano Terry, 3, Cleveland, 25 November 2012

  • #201
She was 15 when she had her first child! She was 17 and pregnant again with Emiliano. This girl was over her head with stressors and I mentioned that this morning without even knowing the social services situation until now.

Children having children.
I had my first at 17 and 3 children by the time I was 21. I raised them on my own b/c I found my husband with someone else when I was pregnant with #3.

I didn't kill a single one of them. I never even spanked a single one of them. Who in their right mind wants to inflict pain of any kind onto a child??? I just don't get that and I never will.

Oh, I didn't need social services to help me not kill any of them either. I did get some help with being in section 8 housing for a couple of years. Other than that, I WORKED to have an income and medical care.

This is why I am so passionate about people thinking that someone else should have helped her. IMO, if it's in your personality to be able to kill your own flesh and blood either through murder or negligence, NO amount of monetary, physical or emotional help will prevent it.

She made a conscious decision to birth and raise those children so she had a responsibility to not screw it up and to protect her precious baby. We live in a country where one becomes a mother by choice not force.

ETA: I should have waited and just said yeah that to princesspjs. She said it so much better.

My understanding is she asked for help. To me, it indicates she had more than she could handle and was way over her head in responsibilities. Not everyone's situation is the same and I think we have learned that from following cases here. When someone cries out for help, I think they should be heard.

I'll sit back and wait to hear more but I think we will learn a lot.

Oh, damn. So awful. Wishing peace for those who loved little Emilliano. And for those poor searchers who had to pick through garbage to find this little boy's precious body. :rose:

I'm not excusing her actions if she murdered her little boy. All I'm saying is perhaps we need to listen to people who cry out for help if that is what happened in this case.

Further, professionals truly need to be trained to be aggressive in situations that even hint to violence, past or future. Courts try to keep children with parents as much as possible, but I think they should instead err on the side of caution. Every time.

ETA: Sadly, children who grow up in state care so often fare not much better than the situations they were pulled from, or they go on to perpetuate the cycle. That may be the case in this very same homicide. :(

With or without the existence of any social services, the primary source of love, care, protection, and safety for a child should be his/her parents.

I tell my kids that I'd walk through fire, swim the oceans, climb to the ends of the earth, and starve to death to save them.... and I mean it. It hurts my heart to no end that every.single.baby out there isn't loved in that same instinctively, primal way.

Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, little E.

Most parents would.

Sadly, this mother's parents also weren't there for her - there was no one to model complete love to her. She was in foster care, where she didn't experience parental love.

Over Thanksgiving I was with extended family and we have some babies in the family, and we talked about how ingrained our parenting is. What your parents did, you do, without thinking. Without thinking, the loving things my mother did for me - I did for my kids - including that useless gesture of reaching across the car to hold their car seats in place if I was in danger of wrecking. Without thinking, I did that, and without thinking, I'd pick them up and kiss their booboos and rock them for comfort.

I don't know what precipitated this chid's death, or what his cause of death was, but I think it's likely that without thinking, she hit him way too hard because that may be what she was raised with.

We need to demand that parents raise our children in safe, stable, loving homes and that they do so without putting even a finger on those innocent children. Hitting a child, for any reason should be our line in the sand and every person that crosses it should be made an example of.

mom arrested

A police investigator with the Cleveland Police Department tells Fox 8 News that Camilia Terry has been arrested, in connection with the death of her 3-year-old.
The investigator tells Fox 8, Terry has been booked on aggravated murder charges in the death of Emilliano Terry.
The investigator also tells us that Terry admitted to disposing of the boy’s body, but does not admit to killing the child. The investigator goes on to tell us the mother failed a polygraph test.

Terrible news.

Why dispose of the child if she did not harm him.. Call 911 if your child gets hurt
I will never understand why someone will hurt a child..In my eyes the victim here is Little E.

  • #216
I had a bad feeling about this and when I heard the 911 call, I knew in my gut that the mom knew or had done something to this baby.. He was only 3 he was still a baby to me. I hope Little E did not suffer. He is playing with Angels now..

R.I.P Baby E.

The 911 call seemed deceptive to me. She distanced herself from her son from the beginning of that call.

In retrospect, I really wonder what the timeline was. Her last FB post (that I'm aware of) was announcing an upcoming music release. That was on Nov. 18th, Tues., the day before the trash trucks ran in her neighborhood.

See comments:
http://voices.yahoo.com/putting-child-adoption-143449.html

I found this earlier today. Around 1:30 pm I called the fourth district and spoke with a detective who I sent the links and a screen shot to of the comments.
I was then called by FBI agent David Morgan who I again sent the comments to, as well as the link to her facebook and website.
This is just sickening. I am so sad but I knew.

if the garbage at her apt goes out on wednesdays (per post upstream) and am just betting that he has been missing since around that time :-(

Another poster found an article earlier today that had a comment on it that ***could*** have been this mother.

It was posted last wednesday (21st)

**reminder that comments under articles are considered rumors**

but in lieu of what we are now finding out that article can be posted

(keeping in mind that we have no way of confirming if this is the same person../that comments are considered rumor)
