Why didn't this monster just hand that precious child over to foster care? She needlessly took his life and forever changed that of 2 other children. He was 3, just a baby!

FFS, it is not okay to hit a child or harm them in any way EVER. I don't care if her guardians did it to her. It was wrong then and it is just as wrong to repeat the cycle now. I grew up with parents that were the epitome of dysfunctional but I also have an IQ above 3 and know that child abuse isn't acceptable for any reason. We need stronger laws in this country. We need a larger, better funded, stricter agency overseeing the welfare of our most vulnerable. When it comes to our children we need a 1 strike law - you neglect or abuse a child and you lose the right to ever parent again. We can't let this keep happening.

I'm so sorry Baby E. You deserved better but you are safe now and if there is any justice the monster that harmed you will never have access to another child.

I just have a gut feeling she may not have gotten the support she needed from county children's services wrt foster care or adoption. The foster care & adoption system in this county has been overwhelmed for some time - so many cases, not enough families, etc. to place children with.

I sometimes wish they would just hand out free birth control pills at school or anywhere else. MOO

If she's on medicaid though, she would have free BC pills. She'd just have to go to the doctor or pharmacy, and medicaid pays for transportation, too.

Even if she didn't get the support she needed, she's ultimately responsible for her child. If she snapped and hurt him, she also chose not to seek medical attention for him and to throw him away like garbage. I'm a mother of three - I know how hard it is with support, I can't imagine without. But that doesn't excuse what happened here.

Let's assume that she did reach out to children's services and they didn't act quick enough or offer her the help she wanted. The answer still wasn't to murder that little boy. She's an adult - as adults we freaking deal. It is part of that whole growing up nonsense our parents preached about.

If the comment found on the adoption article is hers then what we have is a woman who gave birth to a child that turned out less than perfect in her eyes and she no longer wanted him. When she couldn't make her life easier by handing him off to someone else quick enough she choose to take his life. It is a real shame that she didn't take her own life instead since she was the one with the problem.

I understand what you're saying and agree to an extent. I've felt for a long time that community leaders in greater Cleveland need to place more emphasis on and spend more funds on birth control and family planning education. There are only a couple of clinics in this huge county where women/girls on Medicaid can get free birth control and family planning information, both a long way from where this woman lived.

I served on a women's health committee in the city for a few years and was shocked at how difficult it was to get any community based programs going for family planning (eg health fairs, etc.) It was almost a forbidden topic. I used to wonder where all the money for these programs went because you never saw any outreach, education or anything in the community, especially in the city.

Seeing the comments on the article from her make me think it would be interesting to see her computer search history.

I wonder how the father and his family are dealing--I bet they had no clue she was seeing him as a problem and someone would have gotten help for sweet Emiliano.

I am so sickened by this. :furious:

RIP sweet angel. I hope you didn't have to suffer too much.

I wonder what his special needs were.

I had a feeling this case was headed this way. RIP, little one. :(

Flame away, but looking at the amount of things that she posted online, Xfactor videos, youtube, sound cloud, etc; he was probably just being a three year old ( which in my opinion is way worse then terrible twos). She had a 4 or 5 year old and a newborn.
I recognize she was a young mother. At the same time, she premeditated this cover up. She is smart enough to try to get away with this, lie, cry on the 911 call.
There is no excuse.

I'm not sure we should really assume that he had any. He was 3 and that's a hard age. I would not be surprised if he was a normal, healthy child right up until his little sister was born and "mom" suddenly couldn't handle 3 young kids so she decided that there had to be wrong with that baby instead of admitting she was a fail parent.

LOL, I see Congo had the exact same thought and beat me to posting. No flames from me Congo.

Yes, she was obviously very active online. The content she was posting leads me to believe she was poising herself for success in the music business. That was something that REALLY stuck out to me. Three kids and a music career are not necessarily compatible.

But then, I had to ask myself, Why only one child targeted? If it were a Casey Anthony-type thing, wouldn't all three be obstacles to her?

Anyway, yes, premeditation. SO many opportunities to do the right thing, or at the very least, not do the wrong thing.

But with BC, you just need to get to a doctor once a year for a prescription, then she could get the pills at any pharmacy in her neighborhood. A clinic not being in her neighborhood isn't that much of a hindrance. She also wouldn't have to go to a clinic. Regular doctors take medicaid, too. If she had wanted family planning information she could have gone to any one of them. One of the ones who delivered her three children, for instance. And, again, medicaid covers transportation to and from the doctor and pharmacy.

I'm not sure why only Baby E unless it was because the oldest child is in school all day and the baby is still young enough to sleep most of the time so a normal, active 3 year old would be the one getting into things and cutting into her online time & fun.

I wonder too. Great points you bring up. It makes me think if maybe this precious baby was a little more precocious? Three is a hard age. What is the relationship with the dad? she states he is not involved. He is a boy and boys generally are right in the thick of potty training at three. AND she had a newborn.
Its really a mystery. I just cant get past the 911 call and the sobbing that I read through from the beginning.
We really donot know if this little one had special needs. He may have, he may just of been a normal three year old boy:(

I know nothing about this case but your comment reminded me that there is now concern about children starting school unable to speak properly.

Children learn to talk by being spoken to.

The new Facebook babies are being ignored by their mothers and now it's starting to show in the 5 year olds. We are bringing up a generation of mutes.
