Officials: Human remains found Saturday


VIOLET TOWNSHIP - Fairfield County Sheriff's Office officials are still investigating human remains discovered in a creek bed by a farmer Saturday afternoon. The body was found south of Allen Road off U.S. 33.

Sheriff Phalen said that the remains are thought to be female. Authorities suspect that the remains had been there for months, but due to their condition it is hard to make an exact determination.

Based onthe following criteria, been there several months ( so didn't look at anything too recent), female, searching for pink shoes, only suggesting those wearing pink tennis shoes or keds.

Body found in Fairfield County field identified as Columbus woman


A "partially skeletonized" body found in Fairfield County has been identified as a Columbus woman, the county coroner said.

Danielle Leann Greene, 25, last lived on the South Side, according to county records.

Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen said the body appeared to have been in the field for several months. He said his office was treating the death as "suspicious."
