TOLEDO (WTVG) - Toledo Police are asking for the public's help identifying the body of a woman who was hit and killed by a train.

It happened Tuesday morning near North Westwood and Hill.

Police found a black and orange lanyard near the train tracks that they believe the woman was wearing it when she was hit.

Officer think the woman was between 30 and 40-years-old, with brown hair and brown eyes.

What an inaccurate profile....was she Caucasian, Black American....or? height, length, any other body description.....They don't even know for sure that the lanyard belonged to her.....I'm sorry.....IMO....a little off, what were they thinking?

I know, the info seems incomplete. I was hoping maybe another news source would report more facts. Due to copyright laws I couldn't copy the whole article here but the only thing I left out is that the train conductor called 911 after hitting her. He saw her lying near the tracks. That makes it sound recent but I suppose that she could have been deceased before the train hit her.

Using a racial dot map, that area is clearly a dividing line - the area to the northeast is overwhelmingly black, while to the south is more integrated, so I wouldn't take a guess. Seems unfortunately typical for a rust belt city. :(

The railroad tracks in that area look to be in quite poor condition, so I can't imagine speeds are high. Wonder if this was an intentional act. :(

In this article they say the woman was wearing the lanyard. It would be interesting to know what was on the lanyard. And they say she was white (brown hair, brown eyes)

She was apparently 5 hours dead before they found her. They will run fingerprints.

I found this lanyard being sold at Lowes Home Improvement stores: Shop Hillman Skull and Crossbones Lanyard at Lowes.com

Good spot, Gardener. There is a Lowe's at 5501 Airport Hwy, 4 miles from the scene. There are twelve of those in stock at that location. Wonder if they could go there and have them check the skew code to see when they've been sold, and if the purchaser used a credit/debit card with their name attached.

Can a willing someone comment on this Facebook thread:

Toledo Police Department

and tell TPD that it may have been sold at the above Lowe's.
