With DNA and dentals available for this John Doe this case seems easily solvable. It really upsets me that he’s still unidentified so many years later. Has anyone suggested this case to @othram already?

I hope someone can take it up. Years ago I had a reporter interested in doing a story, and then a big local story broke and went national and that was wall-to-wall for a while and then we kind of lost touch.

The stats line up very good. However, there is a frustrating lack of details in Reed's case.

I don't think so. If they were, shouldn't they have claimed him immediately? I messaged Alice's Facebook and sent photos of the note and JD's clothing. No response. I found 2 Instagram accounts that could belong to Alice, but one is private and another seems inactive.

Wow, I think this is a very strong lead re Bess. Honestly you should call detectives as well. Or the coroner, can't remember who is point on this. But Warrensville Heights isn't far at all from Garfield.

I already emailed the NamUs regional program specialist for John Doe. I gave her links to the website and <modsnip> that I found. I also messaged Alice on Facebook, but got no response.

Here is his Websleuths forum.This is a sad case, even the FBI got involved at one point.

Youngstown Police are also looking for Marcell's relatives in order to enter his DNA in Namus and cross-reference it to the Ohio John Does. I believe they are looking to cross-reference it with this John Doe in particular.

Anyone with an ancestry account able to see into his lineage? Maybe a "Cynthia" is listed in his family tree somewhere?

Byers is 6'1, so he's much taller than John Doe who's 5'7. I don't think it's him. And I don't think Cynthia will be a relative either.

"We asked Dr. Gilson if DNA from this John Doe could be used for investigative genetic genealogy, since we’ve seen several cases solved with this method of advanced DNA testing and genealogy. Their office is working on using genetic genealogy in some of their cases.
