Circumstances of Disappearance
The missing person, Hailey Elayne Worthy, took a last minute trip from Georgia to Michigan on 12/13/2020.
Hailey was on the way back to Georgia at approximately 9:00 AM on 12/14/2020.
Hailey was possibly trying to find an alternative route after being informed the Ohio River Bridge (presumably between Ohio and Kentucky) was out.
The last text or phone conversation involving Hailey was on 12/15/20 at 3:00 AM to friends stating, "I love you all and see you soon."

A missing person report was later filed with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department in Georgia (Case #20182984).

Hailey was driving a silver Nissan Sentra bearing Georgia license plate CGD5221.

So Hailey left GA to drive to MI on Dec 13 and then decided to return to GA the next day? Did she make it all the way to MI? It’s a 16 hour drive one way! And she supposedly left MI at 9 am on the 14th. Something’s clearly not right - not sure if it’s the reporting or what was told when the missing person’s report was filed. But mathematically that’s a heck of a turn around. IMO

Conflicting is Hailey was "seen" in Ohio in her car to she called friends from there to just her "car" was seen. Who saw her? Or was just the car seen.

Her friends have gotten together to hire a PI. It's at link against rules to link to.

So hope she is somewhere safe!

Oh no! Terribly sad.
There never was really too much info to go on when she went missing. I hate that it ended in the way it did; may friends have the answers and closure they need.

This reminds me of the Erica Hernandez situation in Texas. Erica's car and her body in the car were found after a few weeks, most people think she somehow drove into the pond accidentally in the darkness. The pond was about 10-15 feet deep, if I remember correctly.

In the Hailey Worthy case, the pond her car, with her body, were found in was about 10 feet deep. And she disappeared in December on her way from Georgia to Michigan. Her car was found five months later (two days ago) in Toledo, Ohio, right before the Michigan border. A hospital helicopter (life flight) was flying over the area doing some training, and they noticed a car in the pond and called police. I wonder if Hailey pulled off the highway to get some sleep and somehow at night drove into this pond.

It is eerily similar. Perhaps the coroner will be able to shed some light on both of these cases. So sad. Hailey was only 30 years old, and Erica not much older.

Just thinking why the trunk would be open? Water into electronics or something? Did she panic and begin pressing buttons on the door (at least my car does have a trunk latch on the drivers door)? Might not mean anything at all, just stuck out to me.

Police: Car With Body Inside In Ohio Pond May Have Been There Since December

A deceased person was found in a car submerged in a pond in Ohio, authorities said.

Police in Perrysburg said someone in a ProMedica helicopter flying overhead spotted the submerged vehicle Thursday night in a pond near Levis Commons. Fire department officials said the car was recovered Friday morning from 10 to 12 feet of water.


The car may have been in the water since December, Solt said.

The remains were turned over to the Lucas County coroner for examination and confirmation of the person’s identity. It wasn’t immediately clear how the vehicle ended up in the pond.

I have not been able to find an update that confirmed the identity of the remains found. I emailed one of the news outlets that published the article to see about an update.

Tattoo on body of woman pulled from submerged car matches missing Georgia woman

I did a google search and this article says that a tattoo on the body of the person matched the tattoo of the missing person in Georgia. Very saddened by this turn of events, and haven't been able to find much news online regarding how family and friends in Atlanta are reacting to the situation and what they think may have happened.

When trying to find confirmation, I tried that route as well...trying to find any news from her friends. I was able to find the same posts from a couple of close friends that I came across when Hailey first was reported missing, in which they were pleading for any info that may help find her. I’ll check those posts again, and see if there’s been any updates.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been confirmation yet, esp. since the car’s tag number matched Hailey’s car and the mention of the tattoo on the body found matched that of a tattoo Hailey has.
But again, the identity of the remains may have already been confirmed and LE or media just didn’t release that update.

Her NamUs profile is still up, but I was able to access the page HaileyisMissing.com so it may have been removed.

The coroner will make identification through fingerprints, dental records, or DNA. In this case, it looks like there were dental records on the way to the coroner a few weeks back. Headline is misleading... MOO
