Does it seem weird to anyone else where Grandpa said that Harley loved his mother....but no mention of Dad? Is this a hint that there were problems in that direction?

So I know there is only the one grainy photo from a dash cam of what they think is Harley but can't say for sure on his walk that morning. Does anyone know if his typical walking route to school is pretty busy and full of houses and businesses? Nowadays so many houses have things like Ring cameras.

Do we know if they were not able to locate any other cameras on his route that showed the street/sidewalk or if they located them but none of them showed Harley?

Lots and lots of info we don't have access to I'm afraid. They have enough LE to cover all the bases, guess we will see if anything has changed at PC this afternoon MOO

Search efforts from the Port Clinton police and fire departments began on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Monday following, dozens of neighbors from the area gathered to help expand the search.

LE started searching for him as soon as he was reported missing.

Community members began looking for him on Monday, the 23rd.

Neither LE nor the local public are guilty of dropping the ball here...they've been invested in trying to locate HD from the get-go.

I noticed that as well. Harley’s mom doesn’t talk about dad much either (such as in “We”) although it’s my understanding that dad is present in the home.

I'm horrible with that mapping stuff, but I'd love to get a visual of where the following locations are in relation to each other:

• HD's home
• School
• Spot where image purported to be him walking to school that morning was captured
• Waterfront
• Public Parks/Campgrounds (if any)

@MassGuy, IIRC, you're really talented at map-making projects, maybe you could take a stab at dropping some pins on these locations for us...?

Holy Crud.

No wonder his parents took his "electronic device" away.

Those YT videos are an absolute nightmare.

Putting his phone number on blast.
Posting live vids of himself in the bathtub.
Disclosing his age, "I'm only 12."
Disclosing personal family info & legal/court info.

Horrifying.

No boundaries.
No safety awareness.
HD did everything but give out his home address.

His digital footprints should yield a treasure trove of info for LE.
This is likely the very reason so many agencies, including federal, are involved now.
They're going to need to go interview any adults who interacted with him via SM, as well as whoever contacted him after he posted his phone number on his YT channel.

The SM issues make this case a hairy mess for LE.
While HD's SM activities may be completely unrelated to his disappearance, LE is going to need to do their due diligence and rule that possibility out.

I grew up around police officers and while they do make mistakes, for the most part, they have big hearts and do the best they can with the information given them. Most departments are understaffed and overwhelmed.

I believe it. It's a small town that has probably never dealt with much more than drug dealers and family disputes. Much less missing child gaining national attention and federal involvement.

I'm sure they are doing their best. Articles unfortunately change with every update, so determindet exactly what was done at the beginning is hard.

Obviously Harley had issues. He was in trouble. His mom posted on FB about her issues with him. His grandfather said he had issues. The cops decline commenting. Don't for one second believe ppl didn't dismiss him at first. BS. I won't buy it. I'm not saying it isn't a natural response if a kid has a rough reputation for being troubled. That wouldn't alleviate your guilt for not trying sooner though.

Was it only his mom who was the last person to see him that morning before school? Was he seen by anyone else between the time he got home from his friend's house the evening before and when he left for school the next morning?

Exactly what I would expect. I don't think they're guilty of anything more than not focusing on their troublet son enough. I'm sure they tried to "help" him. From my experience however, the kids are more often than not blamed as the problem. Clearly she did this often, venting on FB about the poor kid. Parents forget kids have issues for a reason, and that reason is usually the parents. But they never want to accept that maybe, just maybe they screwed up.

If he felt he was a constant issue, which based on some of his videos. He even said in one "I wish I could just stop doing this stuff"

He clearly felt he was the problem. Poor guy. I really, really hope he didn't feel hopeless. what scares me is the amount of water around there.

BBM ~ yep! And if you follow the MSM link in your post and read her FB post from last night, she starts it out with "Just I guess it's time I get on tv and talk..." because going on tv to try to find your missing 14-year-old son is such an annoying inconvenience I guess. And you can read the rest of her bizarre post. She has made it about herself from the very beginning, she is extremely manipulative and it appears to me that she manipulates and gaslights Harley into some of his "bad behavior". Sadly I have known mothers like this, that's why it's so glaringly obvious to me. Notice all of her pleas for him to come home center on HIM coming home to make HER feel better. Including coming home to lay on top of her until she feels better (the Grandfather actually said this). WTH??
