While may of us may not agree with some of their parenting choices, it's wise to remember that they are not POIs or anything of the sort.

I have been guilty of this, so this is a reminder to myself, as well.

Chief Hickman has been putting that in his statements on FB for a few days now. What I can’t understand is why didn’t he say the same thing when asked about the parents by a reporter yesterday during his press conference?

He said “No comment” which IMO just leads to more SM speculation about the parents.

Per the Port Clinton high school website, school starts at 7:30.

my opinion is that it is possible he left in a huff, early, because of their disagreement. To blow off steam, or go around the block etc.

Recent article says:

We need solid evidence that he did indeed head out for school in the morning of the day of his disappearance. Hopefully LE has now gathered other video evidence to help piece together his movements. Praying....

I'm sitting here scrolling, trying to catch up and I can not imagine a parent turning down TES's offer of assistance to find their missing son unless there is a reason they do not want him found. Did I misread this or did I read that he may be injured?

I think you've answered your own question. Trying to be careful here since we can't be bashing LE; but the long laundry list of the agencies local LE is working with instead of TES, has been present in every press conference the chief has given since the very first one.

This isn't new news. He replied "no comment" in the second press conference they ever did very early on. Since then, he has continuously said both they have no reason to believe the parents are involved and that they have fully cooperated since the beginning. And is now saying that there is no reason to interpret his answer of "no comment" as meaning anything different.

Also I’m beginning to think that the phone was possibly broken much earlier. On his YouTube channel, there are 6 videos from “3 weeks ago”:

one on 12/6
Two on 12/7
Two on 12/8
One on 12/10

and then nothing. With this frequency leading up to, I find it unlikely that he would have taken a 10 day break prior to his disappearance. In the 12/26 briefing, Chief states that a Harley broke his phone “about a week ago”, which would put it at 12/19 or so, but I think it’s closer to 12/10.

Im just concerned it being broken for so long could have contributed to a lot of doom and gloom in his mind. It’s clear he was very attached to it and social media was his outlet.

Several of Harleys more recent postings and some older ones were taken down (I assume by family).

This young man may not have run away. I’ve worked with many special needs children. Many whom have confided in me that they have to take care of their parents for a variety of reasons. It’s unfortunately not as uncommon as we all would hope. For that reason I fear something nefarious has happened to poor Harley. I’m praying he escaped a bad situation and is in hiding but I can’t escape the thought of domestic violence. I pray I’m wrong.

IMO his mother may have spent more time with the younger brother and he was just in the way.
Did he decide to escape his home? One of his vi deos he talks about liking school and never refers to home as a positive. I hope they have contacted the assistant principal he mentions. Not having good thoughts.

So still seems not clear whether he did or did not go home on Thursday evening after being at a friends house. Worrying that (I assume) the friends parent did not ensure he got home Ok, didn’t escort him, didn’t contact HD mum to confirm where her kid was. I hate it that adults are so casual about children’s care and wellbeing.

There’s been mention on here of a video showing the parent asking HD to go home Thursday night- anyone know where this info came from? I note there’s been no timeline given in the LE updates about what time his Mum said he arrived back home that night, another red flag.

I am having a hard time believing the claim he was at home Friday morning and left 6-7am for school. That’s very early too, What time does school even start?

It would be a massive coincidence that he was abducted randomly as he left his friends house or from his own house on Friday morning. On the other hand, It’s a huge coincidence that he’s been giving out his details on SM and has now gone missing- I hope LE are all over his digital footprint as I’m veering in the direction he has met up/ gone off with someone.

I don't see a zero hour/period listed. Our local high school has a zero hour for students to take an extra class before the regular school day starts, but it doesn't appear to be the case for this school.

It doesn't make sense that a teen who didn't want to go to school that day would leave home 30 to 90 minutes before school started.

I am responding to this post more than the other one, if that makes any sense.

All the sheriff has to say is that they're cooperating.
When he says 'no comment' reporters and others will speculate.
But I'm not sure why the sheriff said to 'give the family a few more days' as it's already been too long to wait for Harley to contact someone.
This is serious, and Imo it was serious from Thurs. night after he left the friends' home and it was the last verified sighting.
I'm frightened for this teen !

He may have left before to 'cool off' (mom's words, not mine) , but from what I understand the mother saying it's never been overnight !
LE had to go to the home before to help calm Harley down after a dispute, according to LE and the mother via msm.

So the missing person's report was filed late Sat. night at 11:50 pm ?
And he was missing from Fri. morning and possibly earlier from Thurs. night when the friend's dad told Harley to go home.

Could also be that autism is suspected but not diagnosed. If he’s on the low end of the spectrum he could be high functioning so you wouldn’t be able to tell unless it was in his med records.

Edited:. I taught kids who have behavioral difficulties and in some cases, their parents aren't really able to control them. The comments about police being called to help him calm down seem a bit reminiscent of that type of situation. I'm not saying those types of situations are healthy or good, but they are a reality. It also doesn't make him a bad kid. It can just be a really tough situation. The fact that he had a psychiatrist, extra emotional support at school etc. reminds me of situations I've seen, but it also says that someone was trying to get him help.

I have to admit that I'm getting a bit frustrated with how critical people are being of his mom on here - I don't have any idea if she had anything to do with him going missing, but right now, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that she did.

Her talking about needing him to sit with her during her medical procedure may be part of her trying to get him to come home. Some kids respond well to being asked to help.

I'm not saying she's perfect - either, for all I know she *is* involved in the disappearance, I'm just surprised that this is continually going so far after the family.

Personally, I don’t believe he’s autistic, low functioning or suffering from bio-polar. I think his mom likes attention and is not above using her children to get it. - I can not believe a word she says.
I’m not saying she harmed her son, I’m saying I do not believe she’s a credible or reliable WITNESS.

Reading this thread, I'm starting to think that there isn't really any enforcement on the rule here that families are considered victims. The above quote is just one example of the type of comment - I don't mean to single that poster out. I'm not sure if anything helpful to Harley is coming from these comments, either.

Did he call or text anyone after he arrived home Thurs. night ?
Anything, just stating whatever --- he was back home hanging out in the living room or his room... feeling bored...nothing very good to eat in the house... whatever teen feelings he was having ?
Was it something like he tried to hang out at the friends' house because he didn't feel like going home ?
Had there been an argument at home the day before ?
Did Harley have a girlfriend ?
Seems like the clues will be found in his SM.

Here is the biggest question in my mind. Why is there no video surveillance of Harley the morning he went missing? One grainy photo.

For lack of other ideas, is it possible he was using someone else's phone such as making contact with someone by using the friends phone Thursday night?

What about a school issued ipad? Could he have made contact that way?
