this puzzles me also. i understood that they had a disagreement about going to school fri morn and i just assumed it was a face to face discussion. but maybe he was still in bed and she was talking from the or downstairs and then she was taking a shower or getting dressed when he left. could be any number of things such that the talked and argued back and forth but did not see each other. or it could be something else entirely.

I’m glad they have been checking the school for signs of habitation, but wouldn’t they have security cams for heavens sake?

My original theory was that Harley has been hiding at an off season cabin or someone’s home that has been gone for the holidays. However, more and more info keeps coming forth that is making his disappearance far more sinister sounding.

I’m still rooting for you Harley! Please let us know you are okay.

If Harley usually gets up and leaves home before his mom wakes up, it could be she was still in bed and they were talking back and forth while he was up and getting ready. I'm guilty of that if I have the day off and my son doesn't.

I was assuming this scenario truthfully. And no matter what, if she just talked to him and didn’t “see” him, she has no idea what state he was in. He could have had a worried look on his face, he could have been fidgety, nervous, etc. Vital info was missed as usual in this whole thing. :/. My opinion.

Pardon my language but WTFF? Does this mean Harley didn't go home Thurs night? If not where did he go? Where did he come from when he showed up in the video Fri morning? Where did he go after that? I hope he has friends that are hiding him,and that he is safe. I hope he didn't run away and into the he clutches of some predator,or go find some place to end it all. I wish could just hug Harley,and reassure him that this is just temporary. I hope the center for missing and exploited children can help him, and be a safe haven for him. This Mamma's heart hurts for him. MOO

So who saw him and what he was wearing ?? I thought it was the mom also when he left for school between 6-7am.

On the other hand, that may be just too much pressure for a fourteen year old. That type of support and comfort generally comes from a spouse or Partner; an adult far better equipped to handle the emotional requirements. Let fourteen year olds have their childhood.

While it CAN be "pressure", it doesn't have to be. Some kids respond better to requests to help others than they do to promises of some kind of reward or benefit for themselves. I know which of my own (now grown) kids would be more motivated by being helped, and which would be more motivated and genuinely happy at the prospect of helping someone else. It's not taking away their childhood to allow them to do things that bring them joy and self-confidence, even in ways that seem less conventional. I have no idea if Harley & his mom have the type of relationship where she'd know this about him and purposely use in her plea to him. But it seems as plausible as assuming all she cares about is "ME ME ME". JMO

Just to play devil's advocate here I can understand how this entire exchange occurred. Mom got up early to see husband off for work, she went to Harley's bedroom door, knocked and said "it is time to get up for school." Harley said "I'm sick." Mom said "you still have to go to school." Harley became mad and got ready for school (14 year old boys aren't known for caring about things like showers or hygiene. By then mom is dealing with younger brother, or even taking her own shower. Harley just yells out "I'm leaving." That could explain how she just talked to him.

As far as the reports of what he was wearing, I don't know of a parent in the world that doesn't know every clothing item their child owns. What was missing that morning was his grey sweat pants, black tennis shoes, and his puffer jacket. His glasses were also gone. But what is missing in this description was what shirt he was wearing under the coat. But why wasn't there a description of a shirt?

I have watched all of Harley's video's on his YouTube accounts where he is just talking. There has been a lot of speculation about him being on the Autism Spectrum, based upon mom's previous statements. As a retired Social Worker and Educator, I can honestly say that if he is on the spectrum, he is high functioning (what we used to refer to as Aspergers Syndrome). He is bright, articulate, and is actually able to focus; however, this is a child that is incredibly naive. In one of his videos he even superimposed his phone number. He is a parent's nightmare, and a pedophiles dream. In one of his videos from 2018 he complained that he had been "banned for life" from computers at the community library and was begging for people to buy him video equipment or a cell phone that was a better one than his 'crap' cell phone. Hopefully LEA are following up on his followers, and especially his shoutouts.

I really have an uneasy feeling about this. At 4'9" and 100 lbs he is in the 2nd percentile for boys his age, and probably puberty challenged. Again, he is a pedophiles dream.

This is all my opinion, but still, as a grandparent of a 14 year old, this is very concerning.
