"I continue to ask that you give us a couple more days to complete the searches that we need to accomplish before you begin searching on your own. Please understand that we will be continuing to search for Harley, however I know that you want to assist as well."

Just to play devil's advocate here I can understand how this entire exchange occurred.

Respectfully snipped for length.
I actually can see this as well. I often don't see my son in the morning (his dad takes him to school) as I work late. I honestly would have NO clue what he was wearing most mornings. I *might* be able to figure out shoes and I know most of his coats/jackets are black or grey but he rarely wears them. I'd have no idea if he happened to be in sweats or jeans. Lots of teen boys wardrobes are a sea of navy, black, grey with a few pcs of red or green. I would know his bookbag for sure. And if my son was claiming to be sick, he might come in and talk to me but I'm not sure I'd be awake enough to give a full description of what he was wearing.

I just asked my husband what my son wore an hour ago when we ran to the store and stopped for dinner. He said "I have no idea. A short sleeve shirt"? It wasn't. It was long sleeve. He had no other guesses.

However, none of that explains why LE has said that he was last SEEN at 6:50am by his mother.

Asked when she last saw her son and whether it was that Friday morning, Dilly said, "I didn’t see him, I talked to him. There’s a difference. That’s really all we can say, it’s an open investigation and that’s the biggest thing people are not understanding. We can’t share because we don’t want to jeopardize him."
Mother of Harley Dilly pleads for his safe return

Ok, so when was the last time she DID see him? I mean actually visually see him? If not Friday morning, when then?

I can understand a hectic morning where maybe they were talking back and forth while in different rooms until Harley left the house, but to me that is still technically "seeing" him because you know that his presence was THERE in the house even thought your eyeballs didn't actually SEE him. Right? ETA: so does this mean he wasn't actually in the house Friday morning?

And Harley supposedly told his mother he was feeling sick that morning. Most mothers make it a point to at least eyeball their kids before letting them go off to school if they are claiming to be sick.

IMO

We could all judge the home circumstances but in the end it doesn’t really help solve the problem of where HD is. Regardless of whether it was Thursday or Friday that Mum last saw him I think the fact that LE have requested video footage/ dashcams from Thursday 3pm speaks to the fact they need some reliable method of tracking where he was/ who he spoke to/ who might have picked him up.
I personally think LE have zero leads to go on right now until some footage emerges or an independent witness comes forward. Not allowing further searches by the public makes zero sense either but so much time has passed I’m not sure of the value of this any more anyway.

Records show police called to Dilly residence 5 times since 2016

SABBM:

PORT CLINTON - Records show police were called to the home of missing teen Harley Dilly, who has not been seen for two weeks, five times over the past three years.

At least four of those five calls to police were made by Heather Dilly, Harley’s mother, according to dispatch records obtained by the News Herald.

The listed reasons for the calls vary, but the two most recent calls cited “unruly juvenile,”
including a call in September, which specifically notes an “unruly” 14-year-old, appearing to refer to Harley.

Records on the three other calls made to the Dilly residence during that same period, between May 2016 and March 2017, do not include any references to a juvenile. Each of the calls were placed by Heather Dilly, according to police records.

Among the reasons cited for those calls include “custody dispute,” “civil complaint,” and “disturbance.”

Man, this case is complicated.

So many possible scenarios.

So much for LE to unpack.

What the article said was that there were two juvenile complaints, a domestic disturbance, a custody dispute, and a break-in. Obviously this family has some problems.

Sounds like the Dilly residence is well know by law enforcement. What is the common denominator in these disturbances?

amateur opinion and speculation

Pretty sure I can paraphrase bc it's an offical faceboo page (if not mods, I'm sorry please remove):

Mom posted on the official facebook page that she spoke to Harley while in bed but it was dark so she didn't see him.

What does the FBI have to say? Aren't they involved?

That's still "seeing him"! And she knows it! It is appearing to me that she posts and says things that she knows will cause people to side-eye her so that she has an excuse to cry "they're being so mean to me!" and draw attention and sympathy to herself. I really wish this family had a spokesperson to help them with the public/media/social media aspect of this case! IMO

Her comments escalated. I won't paraphrase those. It's on the official Missing page though.

How did she talk to him? His phone was not working. Was she not home and he called her on the landline phone? Things are not adding up.

My guess would be she spoke to him thru a closed bedroom/bathroom door.

I've only popped in this thread a few times but I did watch a couple of HD's yt videos posted a few pages back.

If calls to police by mother about an unruly teen were meant to intimidate and/or place fear in her son, it seemed to work from his statements about being under constant threat of police intervention and having to go away for 30 days.

(Also not very clear to me if the calls to police were even warranted??? Too much dysfunction happening in that household). MOO

Hope you're located safe very soon Harley.
