I think it is most likely that the school doesn't have that great of firewall. This video was the end of last year when he was still in middle school. Most middle schools don't allow students to take school laptops home. Therefore, they don't need to be able to pair with other wireless networks. If they have an IT department worth their salt they have set up the laptops to only connect to their internal network. Schools are required by the Feds to have web filtering. You can see in the video that all the students in the classroom are using laptops; which leads me to believe he was using a classroom computer. You can hear students around him saying "he is streaming."

Most schools, again if they have a competent IT department, disable webcams. It is just SOP. But they must also have a very weak firewall. Harley seems to be very tech savvy and I am sure he figured out how to break through a very weak firewall.

yeah, the web cam was a give away. i was thinking this morning that he may have just propped his cellphone against the laptop screen and streamed with his cell.

Regardless of whether or not his SM/online presence has anything to do with HD's disappearance, this case really does serve as a cautionary tale re: the potential dangers.

If I ever run for school board (or POTUS), my platform will be very straightforward:

Aside from actual computer classes, no laptops allowed in the classrooms. PERIOD.
In lieu of Chromebooks, students will use the following:

• #2 Pencils.
• Flash Cards.
• Trapper Keepers.
• Abaci.

The educational tool kids really need to learn how to use is what's called a human brain.

They are webfiltering, but a lot of communication from teachers is via twitter for example.

School Districts that actually have policies ban their teachers from using Twitter and Facebook. They want their teachers to remain anonymous and not have a public presence.

It appears HD used his school-issued Chromebook to livestream from the classroom, based on one of the videos that's been posted.

Probably not relevant to his disappearance.

The fact that it doesn't appear that he's logged on to any of his SM since his disappearance is a very foreboding sign, given his high level of interest in online activities.

I think if he could access the net, he would have by now.

I could post that I own property on Mars available at a low cost... but that's just my comment.
Even if LE were to talk to someone-- that person can say anything.
And LE would be foolish to base anything on someone's 'say so' w/o any corroborating evidence.
It's what hard evidence is available.

Did any ring doorbell cams catch him leaving at that time ?
Then we'd also know for certain what Harley was wearing.
We still do not know.

We were told what he was wearing at first, then it changed to -- "....he was spoken to but not seen. Cannot say more or it will jeopardize Harley." (paraphrased by me from the links provided.)
What can it hurt to say more now ?
He's been missing for over two weeks now. Smdh.
