Also didn’t the video show him walking toward that house?

Did the CCTV not come from the house next door to the vacant home?, that is what I took from the presser but I could have misunderstood.

My guess and only a guess. A breeze or wind blowing across the top of the chimney would pull an odor from the chimney and somebody noticed the odor at ground level. There were some warm temperatures days after December 20 into the 4os, 50s and maybe low 60s. JMHO.
Or maybe animals were visibly interested in it, and someone noticed.

It's very possible he threw his glasses down to hear if it made it through and then decided he could try.
Were his eyeglasses neatly folded, as they might have been if they were in the jacket pocket or hood, or were they open with the stems fully unfolded? Broken, scratched, intact? Was the jacket balled up? It doesn't "matter" any more, except to maybe clarify his thinking. It might help his family to know if he went in on purpose for fun or fell in accidentally. I think I'd want to know every little detail as a parent.

According to a police update early on, the mom said she talked to him between 6-7am. There are quite a few inconsistencies with that morning. Some reports said 7am . He was seen leaving on surveillance at 6:08am and the police had checked earlier surveillance which matched up to his normal route .
Did any other kids/people confirm seeing him that morning?

My question is if she did not want to jeopardize him (she said because she talked to him and did not see him) which was confusing, and I do see your point.... why did it take almost another 2 weeks to find him after she said that if she had even a hint something was going on ?
You know. If it doesn't add up, it doesn't add up. I'm starting to wonder if she watched him leave the house, and go over to that house, and that's the difference. Or got escorted by someone not seen on camera. Which would explain why they asked for more camera footage, and the time periods they asked for that. So if they though he met up with somebody. Who?????

Mother of Port Clinton teen Harley Dilly speaks out after he is found dead: He ‘made a choice’

"He isn’t a runaway, or abducted, kidnapped, or missing… he is found and dead!,” Heather continued in her post. “Today we had to go make arrangements at a funeral home for our son, our 14 year old. Who made a choice. He made the choice to climb the antenna of an abandoned home, walk across a roof, to a chimney and attempted to climb down.” -

I've been sitting on my hands because something is just so off about all of this that I feel like anything I say is going to put me in time out but I had to share this link.

I have a feeling that a lot of questions that are being asked and theories being presented are going to be answered by the autopsy. It can’t be released soon enough, IMO.

Ahhh yes. Social media statements. They come with every case, don't they? Some of the more recent statements (after Harley's discovery) made by the family themselves have contributed to the harsh criticism and lack of the community's desire to assist financially, IMO. :(
ITA.

I see nothing surprising in his taking refuge in this home, if I had his life- I would want to escape too!!

I must have missed something. I don't recall his homelife being mentioned.

"ALLEGEDLY" They decided to re-cavnass all the homes in the area. NOW, idk if it was the lockbox that caught their attn OR, the window on the crawl space. IF you notice that in one of the pictures it looks like one of the windows on, what looks to be a basement window, was pushed in or broken. It was shown in one of the many MSM broadcasts, but I can't find it currently, I will continue looking.

HOWEVER, the fact that it took 41 hours for him to be called in as Missing negates any and everything in this case. This is just a boy who had a misadventure as much as our hearts don't want to accept it. The police had dogs around the house, BUT brick conceals a LOT especially when it's cold and above where they are searching.

The 1 thing that gets me is....how clean the coat looked when it was hanging up, BUT that could be due to the fact that the chimney hadn't been used in 10+ years and they were renovating.

Do we know why he wasn't reported for two days? I'm not seeing any reason in MSM. I'm late to this case and I must be missing something.

Ha, the article includes a screen shot of her actual post!

She thoroughly disgusts me. What a self absorbed, cold, uncaring, sorry excuse for a "mother" she is. And I had better stop right there. ALL IMO. But I'll take the time out if I have to, I'm behind on laundry and cleaning anyways :p.
Note the timing of that post. Very interesting.

I can't post the link because paywall (if you google police dilly house 5 times you should get the articles) but it's been reported police were active at the house in the past. There's also Harley's own words on his videos.

And a lot more out there that hasn't been picked up by MSM at this point.

YIKES! The post, not your response.

Perhaps, she is getting harassed and why her post is so angry.
I would not want to go through this tragedy.

I know that, but in my opinion it would have taken alot of the heat off the family, and the whole case. Do you really think that it is normal to NOT search vacant houses that are close by?
Also didn’t the video show him walking toward that house?

I wish I could find the youtube video where he begged his mom not to break his glasses. If I do find it I will post, if someone else knows which one, (i watched it here) please share. I think Harley "tried" to take care of his glasses. JMO
