A woman’s body appears to have been dumped, or hit and run, near Tappan Lake. Her age is mid 30s. Criminal investigators on scene.

As info, two other recent homicides where bodies were dumped in the nearby area, have separate POI’s.

Just before noon, officials did find a purse about 100 yards away from where the body was located.

No word on identification, but if the purse contained ID, a family is going to receive very bad news today.

Prayers for this woman and for those that loved her.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified 32-year-old Erica L. McClain as the victim found alongside U.S. 250 in Harrison County this morning.

Cause of death to be determined, pending autopsy.

I’ve been requesting updates from WTOV-9, with no response. So I put in a request for an autopsy report to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office, and they referred me to the Harrison County Coroner’s office.

They just called me back (they seemed surprised by the call) and said the autopsy is still incomplete and will take 3 - 6 months for a final report.

If her death was a homicide, this young lady deserves justice.

Thinking of Erica tonight, and have not seen any updates on the case or any word of an investigation.

There’s an old saying “If you want to commit a murder and get away with it, go to Jefferson County, OH.”

Tappan Lake is in Harrison County, right next door to Jefferson.

I will leave it at that. For now.
