My wife, grandson, and I participated in the search Sunday afternoon.

While some potentially useful information did come to light from passersby, it will need to be
confirmed by law enforcement before release to the public.

Mr. Lawson's mother, who arrived in town the night the car was found, is clearly a pillar of the family. She is incredibly supportive and does a great job of keeping everyone on a positive track.

Police said they believe it's Lawson, but are waiting on a positive identification.

"If that call comes today and it's Alan, then it goes from sadness to anger on who would take my husband away, the father of my son," Paula said.

Their son, JW, is only 11. Paula said he's the light of Alan's life. While she's holding onto hope he's still alive somewhere, the break in contact with JW certainly rings alarm bells.

Many local folks are coming to the sad conclusion that the body located along the Ohio River near Glenwood, WV is that of Alan Lawson.

Interestingly, I believe that Glenwood is UP-river of the Huntington area where the car was found and all of the other areas involved in this case.

Of course, we await positive identificatio from the State Medical Examiner.

Authorities are doing nothing but sitting on their hands with this case. The woman they originally question that wanted to look at the car is sitting in prison at this time on felony drug charges.
The family still waits for answers and deserve them. Alan like many other cases in Lawrence County remain unsolved.

From April 2014:

http://www.wsaz.com/home/headlines/Proctorville_Man_Reported_Missing_149609015.html

James Alan Lawson’s ex-wife said he was last seen at their home in Proctorville when he left to check on rental property he owned in Ironton.

Three weeks later, the 41-year-old's body was discovered along the Ohio River in Mason County, West Virginia. Investigators said it was a homicide.

Fast forward 2 years, and the family still has no answers as to who did it or why.
