So the big fear here was that he was in the river as some young men who disappear from bars have been found. I believe that is why equsearch got involved early.

I unfortunately have no inside info on this one as I normally do on Cincinnati cases.

I can speculate he just needed a break.

Wonderful news! Sounds like he just needed a break which is what they suspected early on.

In cases like this i wish they would just send a friend or family member a message that they're safe and just don't wish to be contacted and they need a few days. Or even call the police. He's an adult and it's perfectly legal, it just would have saved his friends and family much grief and the resources used to bring in Equsearch.
