OK, I know I'm not missing, but I've been known to have finished a drawing at that time, and send a picture of it, to my partner. I draw my best in the wee hours.

I have a niece (14) that draws a lot and during the summer it was nothing for her to finish a drawing at 2 or 3 in the morn and text me a pic of it so that doesn't bother me but aren't some saying that is was actually a picture of a picture of her? If that is the case when did she first get the picture and why didn't she just show it to him?

I would love for someone to post the dog's normal behavior. We have to put our dog away when anyone other then immediate family stops by because of the dog's anxiety level. I noticed somewhere that her dog is a little dog could very well be yappy.

I have 2 "taco bell" dogs and their anxiety level shoots through the roof when we have company so I have to lock them in my room where they are most comfortable. If she was expecting her dad to be in and out Saturday moving, possibly with the help of others, it would make sense that she would lock her dog in a room she would know they would have no reason to be in for the dog's safety and that of others.

Maybe they both made 911 calls, not knowing the other had done so... it's possible. JC called her dad during his search for her - at least, he says so in the 911 call - so maybe the dad went ahead and called 911, not knowing John was planning on it as well. They might have gotten different dispatchers. Dunno, just speculating. :)

I wonder if the confusion isn't that JC made the call to report her missing but her dad filled out the actual missing person report/paperwork.

My son and his gf are roughly the same age as KM and JC. They text each other all day, even if one is at work. Not DURING work, but during breaks or in a quick moment here and there. She always texts him when she arrives and leaves, just for safety sake. [ she works nights a lot.] I know that if my son was texting her at work and she did not respond once that he would be very concerned. So I can understand why JC was worried, even upon seeing her car at home. Because if she was home, he would have to wonder WHY she never answered, even if only to say I am home sick, call me later.

I was just thinking about this part. My husband leaves for work at 5am and on his way to work he always texts me and says "Hope you and the boys have a good day. I love you." I always respond to that text by 6:30 when I get the oldest up for school. This morning I had such a migraine that I woke the oldest up on time, asked him to get his lil brother up at 7 and went back to bed with no thought to my phone. By 7:05 I had a second text from hubby, at 7:20 he was texting our oldest to make sure everything was ok, at 8:30 he texted my mom to check on me (she wasn't free) and at 9:10 he left me a VM worried that I hadn't responded at all. When I finally texted him back at 9:40 he was on the phone with my grandmom to get her to walk next door and check on me.

Now we don't know what all JC did that day but there is no way my husband would have waited until he got home this evening (or the boys got home at 3:30) to figure out why I wasn't responding at all. He was freaking out in a bit over 3 hours even though the kids had actually laid eyes on me in that time period. It would really help to know what KM's habits were regarding texts. Did she usually respond promptly or was she known to go silent for long periods of time?

The first thing that aroused my interest was his ridiculous 911 call. Anyone that is offering up possible scenarios during an initial 911 call has to be scrutinized. He is blabbering about the Sacred Heart festival up the street which is so reminiscent of the Ryan Widmer case that unfolded in Cinti. about a year ago where he drowned his wife in a bathtub. During his 911 call he was discussing how his wife "always fell asleep in the bathtub".

The cops are probably jumping for joy over this case because every time JC opens his mouth something inconsistant pops out. I would love to know if he passed his polygraph because I don't see how this guy could ever, ever pass one. And I don't think that they have to tell a possible suspect that they failed the test for fear the suspect will start to panic and hire an attorney.

This is a fact. Any loved one not responding to texts, calls, and is a no-show at work incites panic in the family. If this had been my daughter it would have taken me an hour to have contacted her friends and to confirm she wasn't at work and I would have been at the police station in nothing flat. She doesn't go anywhere without her purse, keys and phone. Why he waited until 6 or 8 pm is downright nuts.

On the right as well...in regard to smoking and drinking? Yes to smoking and no to drinking.

ETA: On JC's FB, he has a cigarette in hand too. So, now this begs the question as to whether she smoked inside or outside. She could have gone outside with her phone to text JC and smoke..just left the dog in her bed while she went out side for a special break.

This would make a lot of sense. I love to walk outside at night to smoke, get fresh air, look at the stars, etc but I always lock my dog in my room when I go because otherwise he will stand at the front door and yap like crazy until I come back in (and for a 2 pound dog his yapping could wake the neighborhood). My phone is always glued to my hand so if someone grabbed me then the scenerio would be exactly the same as what we have here.

Great job on finding the smoking info! Looks like if we want any info on KM we are going to have to keep digging deep ourselves.

To be fair, I would imagine that David's Bridal is pretty strict about employees/sales associates abstaining from personal phone use at work (unless on a break or lunch). What I'm wondering is if she was supposed to work all day at DB? I was under the impression that she missed work at the Art Institute as well. Was she supposed to work at the Art Institute in the morning or in the evening? If JC expected her home at 7:00 or 7:30....well, color me confused.

There are only 4 possible scenarios that fit with this disappearance. Either she committed suicide, she left with someone she met over the internet, she left with a friend, or the boyfriend snapped and murdered her during an argument.

1. I think suicide is the least likely of the 4 to have occurred. Depressed females usually overdose and nothing was found at the scene to indicate that she might have taken her own life. Certainly, she wouldn't have left on foot to end her life at the closest lake or river because she would have risked being abducted before she ever reached the water!

2. She may have left with a close friend. hmmm...I doubt that because I don't think she would have left her purse, keys or money behind. She also had to work the next day and leaving the house so late at night just doesn't quite fit.

3. Internet predator. This is always possible but would she have agreed to a meeting after JC left? It was way too late to think of entertaining a total stranger although she may have left either willingly or was taken by force. If she left willingly she was forgetting her purse. If she was taken by force, I doubt her abductor would have allowed her to take her cell phone. And where are the signs of struggle inside the home?

4. Boyfriend snaps. Happens every day. She might have wanted t end the relationship and everyone can now see why she probably felt that way.

Was the door locked when JC got there?

I was under the same impression (BBM) so it would seem that if it had been a normal day she was have a period of time before work that morning to return texts/calls and another period of time between going from one job to the other even if we don't count lunch and breaks so it would seem that alarm bells should have went off sooner to the point that I would have at the very least checked in with her bosses to see if she had arrived. BUT none of that matters if she wasn't in the habit of returning texts or calls promptly and it wasn't unusal to not hear from her until she had finished her work day and had settled in at home.

IIRC and I'll have to go hunt the link but I think it was one of the earlier ones he said he couldn't be sure because he stuck the key in the lock out of habit (my words).

I don't think a suicidal person would even think about abduction if they wanted to end their life. So there would be no risk in their minds. Not that I think she it was suicide.

She also had to work the next day and leaving the house so late at night just doesn't quite fit. Do we have confirmation that she left her keys behind? Also, it could very well be that she got a call from a friend or went out to hang out at the fair. Why would she need her purse? A pocket with a debit card or cash and a cellphone is all a person needs.

3. Internet predator. This is always possible but would she have agreed to a meeting after JC left? If she was taken by force, I doubt her abductor would have allowed her to take her cell phone. And where are the signs of struggle inside the home? From what I understand she only had to be at work at 11 the following day so going to bed late is not unusual for a 22 year old. There doesn't have to be a struggle if she complied. She may have taken her phone without the perp knowing and when he realized she had it, dumped it. We don't know.

4. Boyfriend snaps. Happens every day. She might have wanted t end the relationship and everyone can now see why she probably felt that way.
I don't understand your statement that everyone can now see why she probably felt that way? See what?

My comments in bold. Welcome! :seeya:

I can't even wager a guess on this one...if not the boyfriend, then I have no clue. She should have been found if she had an accident, or was attacked by a stranger, or even took her own life, by now. So really, that seems to only leave that she is in hiding, being held hostage, or has been killed and well-hidden...

I wish there was better info as to the timeline of the day, whether or not he was trying all day to contact her, and if so, why he was not alarmed enough sooner to set out to see her employers, go to her house, etc...much earlier in the day.

As far as returning to the fair...wouldn't it have closed long before midnight?
The latest article on Fox19 does say keys were left behind as well, FWIW.

I read on another forum a different take on this, and it's worth considering:

What if this was about JC? What if someone wanted to hurt him..in the worst way? And the picture was the final proverbial punch to the gut - as if to say...This is the last time you will have seen her...

My boyfriend is from Cincinnati - evening church carnivals are the thing down there. Size varies depending on the parish, but there are tents with things like card games, sometimes rides, food, stuff like that. They can go on until late in the night, since they are basically community events where everyone gets out sees each other. From what I understand, they're mostly an evening thing.

Stopping in to check updates on Katelyn... so sad there doesn't seem to be much of anything new. I sure wish I had some interesting scenario to ponder but with so little info, there's not much to discuss beyond what has already been posted. Still feeling real hinky about the boyfriend but so hope I'm wrong. Here's hoping Katelyn finds her way home today!!

Do we have a time or even a day that she was seen other than the report by JC.

Has her Father or any other friend or family said they had seen or spoken with her at a certain time, or last time??

Do we know where the cells last pinged?

That's my question also. Just because he reported leaving her townhouse between 11:30 and 12:00am doesn't mean she didn't disappear earlier in the day. But she had two jobs to juggle so she probably worked at some point that day...just don't know. The detectives are being very closed-mouth about this situation but Cincinnati is very conservative.

To the poster wondering what I meant in that post above...I was just being sarcastic. I can see why she'd want to break up with a dork like him.
