I don't understand why JC, Katelyn's family etc. aren't keeping this story going. How can people just sit back and "accept" this? Baffling to me.

It is sad. I hate the rumor mill. I just wish some of the people who really know something are talking to LE.

BBM. I hate this rumor mill too but it isn't surprising in this case when we have 2 camps that are so divided and LE that isn't releasing anything that could clear up some of the stuff being floated around. I feel like if LE or the family (KM's family) would release a little bit of information it would give people something to work with and some of the rumors and bashing would slow down.

I am most upset by TM's position here. It feels like he is 'taking sides' and that doesn't seem productive at all. To some degree I understand his stance but it was handled very poorly and it is sad to see all the people/searchers he has turned off (me included). We had to buy a sax for my son and managed to get a great deal saving $300. I had planned to donate that money to TES. I have now decided to make that donation to this site and KK instead.

Am I wrong to think that if LE has nothing then they should be telling the public to be more aware etc.? LE has told us NOTHING to worry about isolated case so it can't be both ways....they can't know we have nothing to worry about and have NO EVIDENCE..................

Still hoping & praying that Katelyn is brought home!! I'm just so heartbroken that it's looking like another missing person is just going to fade into the obscure with no resolution...

I'm not sure what the police could say, if they truly have nothing. A woman has disappeared. No crime scene. No signs of violence. No apparent motive for her to leave. I guess if I lived there, I'd be extra-cautious whether or not LE advised me to do so, or not. But it seems LE almost never issues warnings to citizens anyway unless they are sure there is a random criminal on the loose...i.e a prison break or something.

I was just thinking... I wonder if Katelyn tended to shower at night, just before going to bed? Perhaps she would have taken a shower after JC left and left the dog in her bedroom while she bathed? Maybe then someone got into the house and she didn't hear them & maybe she had her cell phone with her in the bathroom. Maybe she was holding her phone when she walked out of the bathroom and came face to face with the perp? Or if they weren't inside her home, maybe she heard a knock at the door (front or back) and went to check it before ever going back to her room, or needed to go downstairs to get something (so that's why the dog was still in her room). If someone was watching for the right time to do something, they probably would have known she was in the shower (open bathroom window or bathroom light on, etc. at that time of night, you can hear little things like that when you're outside someone's house). (Exactly why I hate taking showers when home alone!!)

Thinking along with you...it would beg the question of how there seemed to be nothing out of place, no signs of struggle, no evidence of any kind... In my extremely humble opinion, she walked out with someone she knew. Maybe she was in the middle of her nighttime routine, which included the dog in her room. I've not followed WS for long at all, but already I'm amazed at the number of missing people who 'vanish' without a trace. I want to do something! (Besides digress.)

I know many are suspicious of JC but he was the only one at the very beginning who did everything to get the word out about Katelyn's disappearance.

I'm not surprised if he doesn't say another word. I wouldn't either after all the mud thrown at him without any proof whatsoever of his involvement except for rumours & gossip.

Yay for Tim Miller for saying what he did. I respect volunteer searchers but when it starts interfering with the investigation and hampers whatever attempt they're trying to accomplish in their search for Katelyn, I say here here to TES and Tim. :toast:

As other people have pointed out, there was no sign of struggle, so that doesn't really make sense in this case.

On the other hand, I admit that I don't like taking a shower when I'm home alone. I think we can be forever grateful to the amazing Alfred Hitchcock for that fear.

It's really disheartening to see all these comments about TM and the TES organisation. I don't see what useful purpose it serves to let all and sundry know who you are NOT going to be donating to, it just seems very spiteful to me.

At the end of the day you're not hurting TM as such but instead hurting those missing people and their families - whatever you want to say about TM he gets results, he finds people and he brings peace and closure to many distraught families.

That facebook page is one hot mess as far as I'm concerned and I don't blame TM one bit for the stance he has taken. You get burned they way he did in the Anthony case and you don't forget that and that facebook page serves absolutely no purpose other than to cast suspicion on anyone that ever knew Katelyn.

I think they only way Katelyn is going to be found is on one of the searches irrespective of who's conducting it.

What makes you think they are just sitting back and accepting it? We have no idea what they are doing - it baffles me that people want to judge her family based on next to nothing. I'm sure her family are devasted.

We still have HOPE and have to hang on to that. Its not cold until they stop searching altogether and that hasn't happened.

I am a bit suprised that the big fundraiser being planned is more than a month away. I wouldn't be able to be planning that far ahead, I would be wanting to have people searching every day and assume she would be found long before that. I don't think I would be able to imagine that she might not be found that far off. JMO

The planning process is a good reason for the far off date. Additionally, TES will be returning after the first frost, which according to my resources is estimated for Cincinnati be around October 13th; Dayton, Ohio is on the 16th. So the date of the event and their resumed searches aren't far off (date of event: Oct. 22).

Probably has nothing to do with the case, but there was an armed robbery in Fairfield yesterday at an apartment complex about 2 miles away from Katelyn's house.

It's so upsetting that there's nothing to discuss that I'm pulling at straws, I guess. To me, what happened to Katelyn has to be one of the following situations:

1. Random crime (but then why were there no signs of struggle? and it seems most crime isn't random?)
2. Katelyn disappeared by her own decision (but then why didn't she take anything with her?)
3. JC snapped and did something violent to Katelyn.
4. An unknown person (maybe other romantic relationship, other friend) snapped and did something violent to Katelyn.
5. There was an accident, involving JC or not, that is being covered up by those who witnessed it/played a part in it.

I lean toward #5, personally. By all indications, JC and Katelyn had a good relationship. Something happened, JC freaked out and covered it up, and now feels there's no way he can reveal it without revealing himself to be dishonest or revealing that he's done something illegal. Something about his mannerisms during interviews and on the 911 call just give me a feeling... all JMO, of course.

In any case, 2 things really bug me - why aren't Katelyn's friends and family pushing this more in the media? (To be fair, maybe they are and the media just isn't interested right now because there's no new news?) -and- why hasn't the FF PD had a news conference, or a statement, or anything? It's too quiet. Hoping Katelyn finds her way home soon... :/

I guess those 5 scenarios fit just about any missing persons case...there does not seem to be one theory that is more likely than any other here, as far as LE is letting on.

I would agree with toasting TES IF they had enforced their own policy on searches, they liked to say it on camera but on searches lots of chat about the case.....

Thanks so much for the welcome!! I've been here quite a while, an InSession transplant, but don't post much as I'm always playing catch up. I just continue to pray for answers that will bring Katelyn home!!!
