5. There was an accident, involving JC or not, that is being covered up by those who witnessed it/played a part in it.

I lean toward #5, personally. By all indications, JC and Katelyn had a good relationship. Something happened, JC freaked out and covered it up, and now feels there's no way he can reveal it without revealing himself to be dishonest or revealing that he's done something illegal. Something about his mannerisms during interviews and on the 911 call just give me a feeling... all JMO, of course.

In any case, 2 things really bug me - why aren't Katelyn's friends and family pushing this more in the media? (To be fair, maybe they are and the media just isn't interested right now because there's no new news?) -and- why hasn't the FF PD had a news conference, or a statement, or anything? It's too quiet. Hoping Katelyn finds her way home soon... :/

Interesting idea with #5. Definitely seems plausible. Anyone who would cover up an accident would have to be insensitive to what they're doing to her loved ones.

And as far as media, I think there's really nothing available that hasn't been reported, nothing new. FFPD probably doesn't want to show that the case is going nowhere -- that would make them look bad and scare the public. All her friends and family could really say, "She's lovely, we miss her, etc." It's swiftly going cold :\ I hope this upcoming frost will help.

I hope the next search will bring Katelyn home, back to her family. It should be easier to do a search in cooler weather. Not as much growth, no snakes, bugs mosquitos, spiders. Not to mention the heat that I imagine takes its tole on searchers.

I hope there will be as many or more people searching the next time. I also hope everyone will put aside their feelings about TM and think about Katelyn and her family.

Have Sarx or Oriah weighed in on the holding off on searches until later in the fall? I don't think I have heard this theory before, wondered if it is common thinking among S&R to have a better chance after the first frost. What happens if snow starts early in Ohio and the weather goes straight into winter?

I wondered the same thing. I can remember times when it snowed early. I remember snow at Halloween. Long time ago.

It would be hard to search if it snows. I also wonder if they wait until the first frost, how soon will they be there to search? Volunteer searchers need to make plans too. jmo

I have had a bad feeling about this case since the start...that Katelyn will be one of those who is never found. Hope to be wrong.


Adding: Apparently somehow Katelyn's FB page now allows her photos to be seen by the public, although it did not when she went missing. I don't think it is right that all of her personal photos are being posted on the public FB, JMO...

I was wondering about that! I thought I just wasn't very FB-savvy, thus I didn't notice the pics before a few days ago. There are a couple of pics on there that make me think that she was lax about her personal safety, ie the pic of the check she sent "proof!" and the pic of her room. I am not(!) saying this as a "blame the victim" but, more, I think she has a naturally trusting nature.

Concerning getting voice stress analysis tests and polygraphs mixup: I was watching The First 48 (a show about real life homicide investigation in major metropolitan cities in the US), season 10, ep 2 (maybe 3), and they refer to the voice stress analysis test as a polygraph. Sounds like it's somewhat synonymous.

But I think she had her photos private, when she was around to control her page. Not sure how it opened up since then.

I know.. I've been looking at her pics. Perhaps LE opened the pics to monitor "hits" Who knows. They say the perp always likes to reminisce...
She was a very talented photographer/artist
Hope she took off to France to pursue her art with a new boyfriend and a fake passport!!

If anything happened to my son (GOD forbid raying and people wanted to plaster the internet with his pic (respectfully) I'd be thrilled because then his memory wouldn't be forgotten....

I guess you are right, I don't know why it bothers me. For one thing, no one knows what happened to her yet. And also it just turns the board into one big wall of photos...that's fine for a memorial but it hasn't been that long and she isn't known to be dead. Still, I guess if not the photos, there would just be pages of idle, repeated endlessly, gossipy stuff...JMO. It's not like there is any news at all.

The way it is written, the volunteer feels she found the bones of Billy AND Katelyn...I would think, at most, one of the other...but I do hope they are able to find both of these missing people soon.
