An autopsy was completed over the weekend, but the county coroner’s office has not released preliminary findings, according to Sheriff Michael Simpson. He said dental records could provide a positive identification as early as Tuesday.

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office, State Fire Marshal’s Office and county coroner’s office began a homicide investigation Friday after authorities found the remains at the Deer Run RV Park on Free Short Pike.

Someone called 9-1-1 on Friday afternoon to have the burned out trailer checked out. Officials said they think the trailer was burned sometime last week.

Simpson said he was amazed that no one saw the fire, which he said adds to reasons why investigators believe the blaze is suspicious.

I looked it up, I think it was on thread #2. Someone thought that it was in Winton Woods. I was wondering if it may have been in Heuston Woods State park area. That is much closer to Camden. There was a link to a FB pic of the cabin but the link says the page is currently unavailable. Did someone save the pic of the cabin?

I wonder if any further searches are planned. I wish LE would hold a press conference and at least let everyone know they are still working on her case and whether they have any leads or not.

No one knows she's missing. I was just at a bar on Rt 4... not one woman I talked to had any clue what I was talking about. The bartender did. A cop shooting pool did. But not one woman. This community is weird IMHO. (And as I have stated many times before, I work and socialize in Fairfield at least 3-6 times a month...for the last 20 years )... I am in a constant state of awareness, just because of Paige and Katelyn.... and people honestly think that if there were missing women they would have heard about it. My elderly neighbors who watch all 3 editions of the local news everyday and get the Wed and Sun paper, are surprised everytime I bring up either missing woman (both within 15 miles of our homes) and they say "who" ...My nieces (5 miles from Fairfield) both high school students at private schools--NADA, never heard of them other than from MY mouth at dinner. ITS TOTALLY BIZARRE INMO. I can't tell if the residents are zombies or if LE and Media are ensuring no panic... but there are no witch hunts going on here for justice.... it's so unfortunate for these women, and this situation has only confirmed my opinion of LE in my local area of ever protecting or rescuing me from danger. The spend entirely more time gloating over drug busts and seizure gains to find a missing girl. JUST MOO from a local.

Thanks CincinnatiKate for your first-hand knowledge. It's so sad that is the case. I think about Katelyn every day and just wonder what that boyfriend of hers does with his time? Does he think of her? Does he look for her in every face he sees? Or... Has he gone on with his life, catching a buzz, and never speaking of Katelyn? Does he have someone new in his life? I would LOVE to know the answers to these questions! It would tell me so much more than the obvious. I pray someday Katelyn AND answers are found!!!!

7 Months Today.

Katelyn - we are still looking for you hon! So far, nothing on any local station. There will be a radio spot Saturday -- but someone out there has to know something and I will continue to pray they find the strength of character to speak up.

This is a very strange case, she just vanished into thin air and not one clue leading anywhere. At least with Holly Bobos case someone saw her being taken.
