I don't know how to paste on my phone, but did everyone see that her boyfriend's response to her remains being found was, "life sucks?"

Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk 2

I'm hoping that article misquoted somehow because that is the most terrible response I can imagine.

From another article, JC says this:

"Markham’s fiance, John Carter of Fairfield, told The Enquirer this morning that he felt “like I’m ripped in half.”

But Carter said he did not want to talk to reporters anymore because he no longer had a reason to do so.

“She is found,” he said."

Just now had the chance to log on. I was away last night when the news broke confirming this is indeed our dear Katelyn.
Oh, how my heart aches for Katelyn and what she must have gone through. I'm so angry that this this beautiful, talented woman who had her whole life ahead of her is no longer here due to someone's selfish disregard of her worth! They had no right to take what was hers and then discard her in such a manner!
May justice now be swift and he who has done this be made to pay for such a heinous act upon Katelyn.
I'm grateful that her family can finally have her home and pray for them to one day heal.

:rose:Rest in peace beautiful Katelyn.:rose:You will not be forgotten.:rose:

Even if cause of death cannot be determined, I hope the bag, or some other evidence can show manner of death as homicide. Too many cases with doubtful COD and/or MOD, due to the victim not being found soon enough.

could LE now say that they have "proof" (whether they do or not) that so and so was the one that did it during an interrogation in an attempt to crack them?

JC sure seems to be acting a little weirded out..

Katelyn Markham Missing - Boyfriend's 911 call & Interview
www.700wlw.com/pages/onair_willie.html?article=9008931

John Carter, reported her missing on Sunday, August 14th, after having just seen her the night before. Click on article to listen to the 911 call. What you think..........

I didn't see anything odd about the phone call. Maybe that it was so soon from him not seeing her?

I wondering if maybe she was suffocated with the plastic bag.

I thought the man made it sound as if she was dumped there and trash was dumped on top of her and that's how the kroger bag got around her head. But it wasn't too clear, I agree.

It is horrible to kill someone, it makes it even more horrible when the hide the body so the family does not know what happened and can't bury their loved one, but vastly more heinous to dump a body in a trash pile!

"The biggest two questions are how did she die and where did she die?" Houze said.

He said investigators would go back and interview people who had been questioned earlier in the missing person case, "to see if they can pick up something new." He said police are urging anyone with information about the case to call.

Good to see you here. I would say it is safe to say they have been officially broke up for a long, long time. I won't post 'rumors' but my use of long, long might say it all.
I know about that, yeah. :-/ Just being angry and sarcastic with that post. No problem re the link to the info page; I figured folks here might want to revisit the details.

The actual site was farther down S. Old Cedar Road than shown on that map, fwiw.
Oh, thanks! Folks on the KMDCE Facebook page had said it was just off 252 -- I think a half mile was mentioned at one point. What's the actual mileage from Katelyn's home to the site? I was estimating it at 25 miles, but I'd rather be exact on the info page whenever possible.

Thanks also to AmandaReckonwith for adding the corrected map to that awesome case archive. It is a troubling visual, is it not? :(

The purported ping information comes from a searcher who says she was told that by TES. Another searcher came forward and said he was told the last ping was in Fairfield. In February 2012, the Sheriff confirmed that the Fairfield location was correct.
The Okeana ping information came from a local resident's conversation with two police officers, not with TES (though the conversation occurred during a TES search). A different person, searching with TES in another location, said she was told the last ping was near Bobmeyer Road in Fairfield. Chief Dickey gave the last ping location as Joyce Park in Fairfield.

It's possible there were pings in all three of these areas. Maybe the confusion is about which one was the famous "last" ping. Or maybe, as you suggest, not all the pings were from Katelyn's phone.

Studies have been done about indicators of guilt in 911 calls, and it's interesting stuff. Carter's 911 call features several of the "guilty" markers, including one of the most significant: providing extraneous information.

In one study of 100 calls with 50 guilty and 50 innocent callers, of the callers who included extraneous information, 96% were guilty, and only 4% innocent. You can read the article here:

I m sure they will but now we have 2 states involved Oh & In; which did she die
in? They are co-operating but ultimately one state will have jurisdiction.
I hope it is Ohio.:fence:

That article is disturbing! Her HEAD was found in a Kroger bag with other bones nearby?! And trash dumped on top of the remains?? And the property owner called LE years ago about trash being dumped there?! Oy.

I think had someone gone to clean that trash up, this poor young lady would have been found sooner. Maybe. Or maybe someone had been dumping trash before this?
My heart always hurts for parents who have a child missing and I cannot imagine the hurt they feel.

Does OH have the DP? IN does.

I dont think its good about the trash. Any evidence at the scene a defense will try to say anyone could have put it there if people have been dumping trash there.

How did she die?

An autopsy is out of the question because the remains consist mainly of bone, Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Kode Sammarco said. A forensic anthropologist will have to examine the bones to see if they show any evidence of trauma.

Maybe the bones will tell a story about Markham’s death. Maybe they won’t.

The last sentenceabsolutely breaks my heart.
