he seems very suspicious..is there a reason le hasnt really pushed him from the get go?

I feel so bad for Katelyn and her family. She was so young, whole life ahead of her, entering adulthood, about to do something with her life. (graduate, career, etc.) I bet if she hadn't been violently taken, she would have wised the heck up and dumped JC within a couple of years, after she had realized what the rest of the world had to offer.

I didn't know her, but am just so sad she is no longer here. I wish she still was, so that I could learn about her through her art and not some horrible crime. Rest in Peace, Katelyn. Peace be with your family.
BBM Do you suppose she did wise up? IIRC, she was excited about moving to CO, but what if she changed her mind and just wasn't happy with the prospect of spending her life with JC. Maybe he doesn't take rejection well, especially after specific plans had been made???

Definitely a possibility. I just remember when I was that age and thinking my dumb boyfriend at the time was the love of my life forever and all. I think she would have dumped him eventually, if she didn't already. For all we know, she did. It is said they were in an argument that night.

I think out of respect for her family to process this, hold memorials, etc. they will keep tabs on him but where is he going to go? He lives with mom, delivers pizza, has drug friends who would sell him out in a sec -----------just a matter of time :jail:

Maybe that's why they got one of his drug friends in jail supposedly from what I read in a previous post. Sell him out for a better conviction sen.

Respectfully snipped. Thank you for posting a link to this article. So many of the MSM reports since Katelyn was found have quoted defense attorney Mark Krumbein on his theories about what happened to her. It's good to get a perspective from a different source, and this is not just any source: Vernon J. Geberth, author of "the Bible of homicide investigation," Practical Homicide Investigation: Tactics, Procedures, and Forensic Techniques (which I happen to be reading right now), retired with over 40 years of LE experience (including being involved with over 8,000 death investigations) and is a foremost authority on homicide investigation.

While I found the entire article very illuminating and valuable, this portion especially stood out:

The fact that most of her personal items, with the exception of her cell phone, were left behind at her Dorshire Drive residence is an “investigative red flag,’’ Geberth said. Leaving so much behind suggests to Geberth she left her home with someone she knows.

“Women don’t tend to leave their pocketbook, that’s highly suspicious,” he said. “I would go back to her relationships.”

Thanks for your insights, Dime Detective. Trying to keep an open mind, but keep thinking if a SK came in, I doubt he's going to wait on her to get her phone. I just hope and pray they find whoever did this to Katelyn.

What stood out to me in the article is
Engagement Ring
"Locating Markham’s engagement ring may prove key.
Geberth said he couldn’t imagine Markham taking off her engagement ring. If her ring is missing, that would provide a potential clue for investigators. Indiana State Police have not disclosed if they found anything near her remains".

Quoting myself as I found the Nancy Grace transcripts aired Aug. 25, 2011 and Nancy is speaking to John Carter and he misunderstands Nancy.... Freudian slip perhaps? My opinion only...
GRACE: We are live and taking your calls, and joining us to talk about the disappearance of his fiancee, a bride set to walk down the aisle, an art student set to graduate, is her fiance, John Carter.

John, tell me about the dream you were referring to.

CARTER: Her engagement ring?

GRACE: Dream. Dream.

CARTER: Oh, dream? I don`t remember too much about the dream. It was really choppy. I just remember waking up feeling like, She`s still gone and I have nothing. There`s no evidence. There`s no anything. She`s just simply gone. And I -- and it`s driving me crazy. It`s still insanely hard to wake up in the morning, knowing that I still won`t know where she is and I still won`t have her back and -- and -- I`m just hoping that...

He is thinking she said engagement ring, but she says dream. He says there is no evidence in his dream....trying to convince others perhaps? My opinion only....

I think the cell phone is a key piece of the puzzle. Of all her personal items, it's the one Katelyn probably would've had on her/in her hands if she was just hanging around the house when the perpetrator confronted her. At the same time, it's the only one of her personal items that could've been traced. I tend to believe it's no accident that the cell phone was taken along with Katelyn.

i just had a thought.. i wonder if the friend that left that night because things felt tense ended up texting katelyn later that night to see if she was OK and maybe JC got jealous and blew a fuse? just wondering aloud here. it would be nice if we knew more of her cell phone activity before she disappeared... who was the in contact with that night besides JC?

anywho - i REALLY hope we don't have to wait 6 weeks for the results of the testing on the remains in order to see more progress in this case! someone needs to pay for their actions!

I'm may be the only person thinking this but I don't believe JC was the last person to see Katelyn the night he said good-bye to his fiancé & left her alone at the townhouse...

Go ahead -- call me  I've been called much worse.

Just saying...

Why don't you believe JC was the last person to see Katelyn?

Can you explain, Tarabull? Do you believe JC hired a hitman, or do you think he's completely innocent of Katelyn's murder?

TIA!

ETA: No, you're not crazy. Just Tarabull. :drumroll::dance:
