GUILTY OH - Kaylynn Crawford, 4 mos, Loveland, 31 July 2016

Here, they flipped the picture so Kaylynn's head is upright and it bothers me more than the unflipped picture.

Remains of 4-month-old found, father charged

This followed a December incident in which Crawford was charged with domestic violence and later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. An affidavit from the victim recounts Crawford threatening to stab her in the neck and demanding to see their young daughter

Court records show Crawford was charged in Hamilton County with domestic violence involving Shaneeka L. Robinson last December.

Robinson said in a sworn statement that Crawford assaulted her while threatening her life and demanding to see their young daughter after she had gotten into his car Dec. 26.

“He hit me repeated (sic),” she wrote. “He … threatened my life and everyone in my household. So I gave him the baby because I feared what he’ll do if he didn’t get her.”

At one point during the encounter, Robinson said in her statement, Crawford told her, “I came to put a (expletive) knife to your neck” and “I’m taking you as far down in Kentucky where no can find you.”

What the hell? I just don't understand. Serious question: does the safe haven law only apply to newborns? If you really don't want your precious, innocent infant, take them to a hospital, damn it! I just can't believe these awful excuses for humans, actually KILL children. Especially infants! For goodness sake, that's the best these idiots can come up with?
I'm sorry. I'm just so angry.

(JMO, but I'm almost positive we are going to find out this was in no way an accident)

I'm not a mom. I'm just a nanny, and I would die for those kids. Hands down. I would do anything to keep them safe even if it meant my life.

DatelineFan, I get you completely. I'm not a mother (or a nanny), but without a doubt I'd throw down to protect any child to keep them safe, so I'll never understand how someone can take the life of their own child, especially one as young and vulnerable as Kaylynn.

I also believe that this was no accident. Judging from his violent past, I get the feeling that this was a way to get back at Kaylynn's mother.

Fly high, baby girl. <3

Perfect example in December of LE allowing him to plea down his charge! Grrrr, this makes me so angry!!!!!!!

Maybe, just maybe, had he been made to serve time for the original crime, KayLynn would be alive today.

Crawford is threatening to stick a knife in his wife's neck and take her far away so no one will find her, yet she has a newborn daughter? This incident happened on Dec. 26, so Mama let him see baby. If baby was here on Dec 26, then she is like 7 months old now. His threat from December seems very serious to me, and he should not have gotten out of it! Another live, learn, and regret it.

Do we know the woman in the December incident is the mother of Kaylynn? Perhaps he has another daughter who is 7+ months old?

More from your link:

The court issued a protection order and told Crawford to stay away from Robinson and the child. In February, Crawford asked the court to reconsider, saying he wanted to go home to “work on our marriage.”

He said he wanted to “be with my wife again and show her that I love her and that I wanna change for the better.”

Police reports from KayLynn’s initial disappearance show a Sheneeka Leshay Crawford as an individual who reported the situation to police. It has not been confirmed if this person is the same woman who claimed she was assaulted and threatened.

Court records indicate Crawford was placed on probation and ordered to undergo anger management classes in April.

So, he has another child with Kaylynn's mother, who may actually be his wife. Those anger management classes didn't seem to do much good.

That's when she claims the car ride became abusive. According to the affidavit, Robinson said quote, "he then got on the 75 s ramp and said "expletive I came to put expletive knife to your neck."

The document goes on to read, "he found messages from me and my friend's conversation over the past week." She says she feared for her life because he hit her repeatedly.

According to Kaylynn's mom, Crawford wanted to take her to Kentucky where no one could find her and she couldn't get a phone.

She says she jumped out the car when it slowed down. Crawford threatened to leave here there if she didn't get back in the vehicle. She got back in the car. She says he continued to threaten her life and the lives of her family. She says in the document, "I gave him the baby because I feared what he'll do if he didn't get her."

After Crawford failed to attend anger management and was ordered to go again. Before his arrest this Monday afternoon, he was on probation.

If this really is Kaylynn's mom then she would have been almost three months pregnant at the time. No mention of it in the articles. I guess we'll hear more in the next few days...

I'm finding it hard to understand why the mom gave him access to any child. This makes no sense to me. Unless I had a court order, no way no how, would I ever give that man my child. People have animals taken away and are prohibited from owning another animal easier than a violent person is prohibited from being around a child-infants no less. I'm not blaming the mom, I just don't understand why she thought it was wise to allow him to take a baby anywhere without supervision. IMO, she sacrificed the child in the domestic violence report to save herself, or at least that's how it reads to me. I do not understand.

"Dottie Smith, a Clermont County prosecutor, said during the Tuesday hearing Crawford confessed to his role in the child's death. Smith said the allegations were horrific."

I guess that excludes some sort of accident like leaving baby Kaylynn in a hot car. Now we wait for the COD. I'm afraid there will be more than one horror.

IMO you are not a mother if you pick up your kid for a shield if you hear gunfire/ same principle

Based on the images linked on the Facebook profile I viewed ( TY perfectingpink ), I can't say whether or not this is the same family unit. IMO, we must await word from LE or MSM before we making any comments on what JayLynn's mother did or did not do. I truly hope it was not JCL who was threatened back on December 26th.

That said, I can say, based on experience as a DV survivor and on my studies in forensic psychology (my externship was at a DV shelter), that the cycle of violence is not easily broken, and the violence almost always escalates. Children suffer the most, and this case is proof positive IMVHO.

There are many unanswered questions, and LE has stated their investigation is ongoing. In my heart, I don't believe there will ever be an acceptable response as to why KayLynn's life was extinguished almost before it began. What reverberates, resonates, and leaves me bereft is the profound loss, and promise of her beautiful life. She absolutely deserved to reach every childhood milestone, and fulfill her dreams.

Instead, we mourn her murder, and seek justice in her name.
