TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man man accused of killing a teen girl has been shot and is currently in a Columbus hospital, according to Columbus police Tuesday morning.

WTOL 11 sister station 10TV in Columbus said there was an active SWAT situation near Dennison and 2nd avenues in Columbus's Victorian Village, in which a person was shot and taken to the hospital.

Keimani was just days away from her 14th birthday.

Emotions ran high as dozens of people gathered at the intersection near the abandoned home, demanding answers as investigators recovered evidence from the building. TOLEDO, Ohio — The Lucas County Coroner's Office on Tuesday released the autopsy results for Keimani Latigue, a 13-year-old who was found dead in an east Toledo house Monday afternoon following a nearly week-long disappearance.

According to a press release from the coroner's office, Keimani's cause of death was multiple incised wounds of the neck Her manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Keimani Latigue was last seen on March 18, 2025, at the home she shares with her grandmother. Her grandmother found the house in complete disarray, the front door unlocked, the smell of gas from the stove, and Keimani's glasses which she cannot see without. Her glasses and her underclothes were by the couch in the front and her pajamas were on the dining room floor. Keimani's father said he saw her late Sunday night after she called him and said she was afraid to be home alone because it seemed like somebody was trying to break into the house. Keimani has not been seen since.

I suspect he was hoping to dispose of the body and no hands would remove one means of identification. That's the best I can figure. Who knows what else he intended to do to try to escape detection. Sounds as if LE was onto him pretty fast and maybe he never had the opportunity to complete his plans for whatever he envisioned next.

The teen has not been seen since Sunday night after 10 p.m. Her grandmother said she came home from work and the door was unlocked.

“It was Monday morning and when I came home, she wasn’t here. Of course, she was supposed to have been on her way to school. But, according to the way that the house was set up once I got here because it was in complete disarray. She wasn’t here so I called the school so I could talk to her and they said that she wasn’t there,” Dorothy Latigue said.

Dorothy Latigue said her granddaughter’s keys and glasses were at the house. She said the 13-year-old can’t see without her glasses. She also said the stove was on and she could smell gas.

“Other than her and I, it’s just two dogs in the house. So, who cut it on? So that was kind of suspicious. Her glasses in her underclothes were by the couch in the front. Her pajamas were on the dining room floor,” Dorothy Latigue said.

My understanding is he abducted her from her grandmother's home where she lived. The rape may have indeed happened at her own home but I am pretty sure the murder and desecration of her body either happened at the dilapidated home where her body was found or at his home and he then moved her body to the dilapidated home.

The girl’s father told 13 Action News last week he saw Kei’Mani late at night on March 16, after she called to say she was afraid to be home alone.

“I came over here because she said that it seemed like somebody was trying to break into the house. Me and my cousin sat over here for an hour and we left around 12:30-ish,” Jones said.

“Until we’re done doing the whole investigation I can’t tell you how many people are involved,” Lt. Dan Gerken said.

I am very curious to know if Darnell's cousin was there at the grandmother's house with him as he stated, and if so, what is the extent of this unnamed cousin's involvement in the rape, murder and desecration of this child.
