The search continues for a Los Angeles woman who went missing after going to Ohio to attend a conference last month.

Lindy, who goes by “Indy,” Kidd, 39, was last seen at the “Expelling the Darkness Training” conference on Mount Vernon Road in St. Louisville, Ohio, on Friday, April 23, 2021, according to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office. (Note: Looks like link is not working)

Timeline:

1. 4/23 - Lindy attended the conference at 8135 Mount Vernon Rd Saint Louisville (House of New Hope), her former fiancé and friend, Paulo, booked a Lyft for her (he was staying back in LA). She paid the event attendance fee with her credit card and was seen at the event. Her credit card has not been used since.

8135 Mount Vernon Rd Google Maps

2. The conference was from 5:00-9:30 PM. It was a two day event, on 4/23 and 4/24.

3. Lindy was staying at DoubleTree Hotel in Newark, OH, which is located at 50 N 2nd St, Newark, OH Google Maps

4. Distance from point A to point B is about 9 miles Google Maps

5. Lindy has a few medical conditions, such as daily seizures and needs to take daily medication for it. Her prescriptions have not been filled or picked up since she went missing.

This is extremely concerning. It's been a month, what happened to Lindy? How was she getting back to her hotel after the conference? Was a Lyft booked again? Did she not show up? Did she have any cash? I really hope that she is safe somewhere, but I can't imagine where she would be staying at for all this time, and without her medication as well.

Reading the description of the “conference” she attended, I’m concerned about her state of mind. It was targeted to those who had been victims of “spiritual and ritual abuse” and I wonder if her experience there could’ve stirred up traumatic memories that led her to self-harm.

www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1268439

Edited to add: Took a look at the website of the conference organizer and am even more seriously concerned about her mental health. One of the head honchos of this event is an organization called Through The Black which bills itself as being “The frontline of resistance against the satanic takeover of our culture.” Through the Black. If the missing woman shared their view of the world as a place where satanic cults are everywhere, godless heathens actively persecute followers of the Judeo-Christian tradition, and Armageddon is imminent (obviously, I’m paraphrasing), it stands to reason that she might’ve gone “off the grid” to try to prepare for the coming “spiritual war” these conference folks seem to be hyping. Not for nothing, but one of their upcoming events is a “Family Preparedness Summit” and I don’t think they’re talking about preparing for retirement. Family Preparedness Summit - N Georgia - Pass the Salt Ministries

Note that two of the speakers at this upcoming event might charitably be described as naturopaths—one “healed herself” of cancer while refusing radiation and chemotherapy, the other “cured” his musculoskeletal disorder without medical/surgical intervention. It’s not hard to imagine that these types of folks might be likely to push someone with a seizure disorder to go off her meds and just “cure” herself through prayer or whatever, which for obvious reasons is potentially catastrophic.

All IMO/MOO.

From the article you shared:
He said the main event Indy wanted to attend at the conference was with the YouTube channel, “Through the Black” and was told by another attendee that she was seen with the creators following the event that night.

Nope, doesn't look good. Hoping she has some friends or people she can call or chat with. Also hoping it's not too late for her to be all right.

Has it been confirmed that she never left OH? Has anyone found that confirmation yet? It would seem they have looked into a possible unused plane or bus ticket etc. by now to determine which state the focus should be on.

Indy's Youtube account has 4 videos which were all posted about a month ago. Her last FB post was 23 Dec. - Indy Micha Kidd

Her four YouTube videos appear to have been filmed at the DoubleTree in Ohio [ETA: This was likely incorrect and she may have been staying closer to Columbus where the river she mentions is located] and are revealing in terms of state of mind. She seems like a gentle soul seeking peace, and I’m worried about her. Paraphrasing here:

PRESENT
  • She says she has no money and is not sure what will happen next, but trusts in God’s plan and hopes that the YouTube videos inspire an army of followers to help.
  • She is delighted by the natural beauty of an Ohio spring and expresses great delight in snow, Cardinals and ducks and geese that she sees in and along a river that runs by the hotel.
  • The first (bottom) video is her showing a glimpse of the river with a high fence between the hotel parking lot and the river. The last video shows her walking along the river, which is marshy in areas and has a small dam.
  • She ends her last video with the statement, “Yeah ... so this is the day before.”
  • She refers to her “house” several times, seemingly meaning housemates/ roommates. She says they think she is crazy, and she was surprised they let her come to this event. She talks about boundary issues and a reluctance to return to the turmoil of her life in CA.
  • She stated she hasn’t had a phone since October. She vaguely refers to several “disturbing” videos being publicly posted that concerned her friends enough to report to Oregon LE, but nothing was done.
  • She states she lost access to her permanent email account. She said she made a new one, but then lost access to that one. She’s frustrated and says the only way to communicate with her and know it’s her is via comments on her YouTube.
  • She is concerned that people will be mad with her because of her interaction with someone who seems to be affiliated with a non traditional religious group.
  • She says it has been a journey to get to the conference and she feels blessed to attend. She says she has had time alone for the past couple of weeks, and that has been challenging since she hasn’t been alone in a long time, but that it has also been rewarding.
  • She refers to spending time “packing” and, in context, it seems (IMO) that she was at the least planning to check out.
PAST
  • She grew up in foster care and was traumatized by what she saw as a set of foster parents declining to adopt her. She says she felt stung by rejection;
  • The above may have triggered substance abuse issues (ETA: she speaks of those issues in past terms);
  • She speaks of a woman who may have been her foster mother (ETA: sounds like Indy’s boyfriend’s mother) who did not protect her when she was 15. Instead, she advised Indy to run far away.
  • She says she hopes the woman is a better protector now, since that same woman has custody of Indy’s son.
Much more there.

ETA: I refer to her as “Indy” above because that is how she named her YouTube account and the first post says she often used that name. Media reports indicate she’s also known as “Lindy.”

Concerning, i can see that set up triggering her.

House Of New Hope is listed as an adoption service.
Is that where she was fostered or adopted from?
Strange her friend paid for her travel from the hotel to the conference?
The conference was scheduled for two days. She would need three more travel expenses paid.

In the one “He holds the future” she mentions feeling nervous about something feeling off. 7 min mark
It seems strange that in one of the other videos she mentioned her email no longer working as well.
I am very concerned for Lindy.

Did she attend the second day of the conference? Were her belongings found at the hotel or did she move out? Who saw her last? Has her phone been found?

I'm concerned about the second option for housing provided by the seminar folks. Some sort of a "camp". Could she have been talked into going there?

EXPELLING THE DARKNESS TRAINING - Pass the Salt Ministries

OPTION 2: A block of 20 beds have been reserved in a camp setting with several small cabins for sleeping & a larger cabin with restrooms / kitchen / a common room:

  • 15-20 minutes away from event
  • For singles willing to lodge with others in the room
  • Separate rooms with 5 beds each, not bunk beds
  • Men & women to have separate rooms
  • Kitchen, common room, and 4 bathrooms
  • Single bed with mattress, sheet & blanket furnished
  • $25 per night (Friday and or Saturday nights)
  • Address to be emailed week of the event

JMO - If she was walking the banks of the Olentangy it would seem she was in the Columbus area when she recorded the last YouTube. I wonder if she was confused on the river name she stated in the video?
She mentioned in that video (@ apx 12:30 mark) she had been busy packing, so I do suspect (JMO) she was planning to stay at another location nearer the venue she traveled to attend.

To add: The photo is a screenshot from inside her video I posted up thread . She was at the Olentangy near one of the dams on the 22nd (Thursday) when she recorded the last YouTube video.

The dam locations are on page 3: https://ohiodnr.gov/static/documents/parks/watertrails/OlentangyRIverWaterTrail.pdf

On the 22nd she mentions packing, so I guess she planned to move from where she was staying near the Olentangy River to the DoubleTree in Newark. The river area (Columbus area) to Newark is apx a 40 min drive JMO

I wonder when she was scheduled to check out of the DoubleTree in Newark? Did she have any plans to go back to the Olentangy River area? I also wonder what day she was scheduled to leave OH.

Whatever that conference she went to it sounds cultish

"lost access" to her email accounts, more than once. If I lost my password, I'd hardly call that "loss of access". Interesting wording, hers is, all of it.

Agreed.

Reminds me of the "Satanic Panic" hysteria in the 1980's.
Hope Lindy is found soon, and is alive and well.
The fact that she needs her meds is very concerning ! :(
