Ohio man arrested for Miami shooting killing 2, injuring 1 had arrest record in Miami Beach

Shamun Shaukat was about to close the Chevron gas station when he suspected a troubled 23-year-old man from Ohio was shoplifting and he confronted him, according to an arrest report the Miami police released on Sunday morning.

Jason Dyer-Mitchell took out a gun at about 12:30 a.m., on Saturday, at 1701 NW 54 St., in Liberty City, and started shooting — killing Shamun Shaukat, 42, and Shahbaz Hussain and wounding Elijah Shorter.
