Ex-employee shot man who fired him from Cleveland plating company, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A disgruntled ex-employee on Friday shot a man who fired him two days earlier from his job at a plating factory on Cleveland’s East Side, police reports say.

Andre R. Stanton shot a 29-year-old man in the neck, chest, abdomen and leg about 6:45 a.m. outside MPC Plating on East 63rd Street near Euclid Avenue, according to a police report and court records. An ambulance took the 29-year-old man to University Hospitals for treatment.

Man accused of shooting ex-boss after getting fired jumps out of Cleveland cop car on the way to jail, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man accused of shooting his former boss two days after being fired and jumping off a balcony in a failed attempt to elude U.S. Marshals on Tuesday jumped out of a moving Cleveland police cruiser on the way to jail, police reports say.

Andre Stanton, 28, ripped off the door handle to the cruiser despite being handcuffed with his hands behind his back and jimmied the lock open, police reports say.

Stanton tried to run, but the leg shackles caused him to trip and fall, police reports say. The officers grabbed him and asked for a prisoner transport van to take him to St. Vincent Charity Hospital after Stanton complained he injured his head in the fall, according to police reports.


Stanton was fired for poor job performance. If only he put as much effort into his job as he did eluding justice, he'd be on his way to a successful career. MOO
