GUILTY OH - Marion Co., WhtFem Skeletal 672UFOH, 18-22, along rural road, Mar'07- Dana Nicole Lowrey

I have finally registered at NAMUS and wanted to report that there are two new ruleouts:
MP6161 AmyHaueter 01/15/2005 JeffersonKY
MP24374 SandraKoepke 05/17/2002 MontgomeryTX

Still not in the ruleout list but submitted (I believe):
Darla Douglas, Dana Zelic or Deanna Merryfield, Lynn Cunningham

(??)Bridget Pendall
Do you mean Lisa Marie Douglas? Her name is not Darla Douglas, if that is who you were referring to. From what I know (I have been friends with her family for about 25 years) she would sometimes use Darla as an alias. Darla Willhauck is her sisters name. Do you know if she has been excluded yet? About once a week I look for new information or anything to lead to her being found. I may be wrong, I can't say for sure, because I don't talk to the family much... But I just feel like nothing is being done to find her and bring her home. Her disappearance eats at me, no one just vanishes into thin air.... She's out there, somewhere!!

Hello Aquarius1983 and welcome. I just came back to this thread after the DNA Doe Project update and realized I never replied to you.

Yes, Lisa Marie Douglas was mentioned in this thread as a potential match because she had "Darla" listed as an alias. The man who murdered this Jane Doe thought her name was "Dana or Diane" and so many of us began looking for any missing woman who either had names OR aliases starting with 'D'.

I see that you started a thread on websleuths for Lisa which is a great idea and will hopefully generate more interest in her missing persons case and maybe even help you find out where she is. The more you are able to advocate for her and get her story out there, the better. Best of luck to you and I am sorry for you dealing with a dear friend being missing.

One other thought - Reach out to user websleuther "nina michigan" - she covers a lot of missing persons cases out of the Detroit area both online and on her podcast "don't talk to strangers"

Hopefully the DNA Doe Project can get her identified. I wonder why the magazine crew or whoever she was working for doing door to door magazine sales- if that's true- never reported her missing. Maybe she had left the magazine sales crew/company unexpectedly before like Jennifer Hammond, who was murdered doing door to door magazine subscription sales. That was why Jennifer Hammond wasn't reported missing until three months after she disappeared by the magazine crew she worked with. Perhaps that was why this young woman was never reported missing by those she worked with/for..and maybe not.

Update from DDP:

"DNA Doe Project Case Announcement: Vicky Dana Doe - Marion, Ohio (2007)

Status: The DNA Doe Project is actively researching this case. We are pleased with her matches and feel her case is promising.

  • Who was Vicky Dana Doe?
On 10 March 2007 in Grand Prairie Township, Marion, Ohio, a man collecting cans along Victory Road found the body of a young woman. She was unrecognizable and authorities estimated she was there for years.
Vicky Dana Jane Doe was was likely between 15 and 24 years old. She had short straight, brown hair and stood approximately 5’6” tall.

In September 2016 Shawn Grate, a suspected Ohio serial killer, confessed to abducting and stabbing the young white female and tossing her body along the road. He said the young woman had been conducting door-to-door sales and claimed she allegedly cheated his mother. Grate became angry and killed her. He believes her name could have been Diane, Diana, or Dana.
Scientists determined she could have grown up in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida or Georgia.

MARION COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A cold case in Marion County, linked to confessed serial killer Shawn Grate, may be closer than ever to being solved. The DNA Doe Project, a non-profit organization that works to identify unidentified people and reunite families, has taken on the case.

...

The combination of the name “Dana” and the road where Jane Doe was found (Victory) led to her nickname, Vicky Dana Jane Doe. That’s how she’s listed in the files of the DNA Doe Project.

Amanda Reno, team leader for this case, says DNA Doe Project uses modern DNA technology to try to identify family members of the unidentified person, sifting through databases to find a connection.

“I can’t get into specifics on the case, but what I can say is there were promising matches that were found initially when we did the upload,” said Reno “Our team is doing a fantastic job at piecing those things together and we really hope to see this case be successful soon.”

I hope some of y’all post the transcripts like you did for Mary Silvani’s press conference. I am going to be at my college freshman orientation tomorrow, so I will unfortunately be not watching the press conference.

They’re having a press conference tomorrow regarding her identification! Looks like another slam dunk for DDP! This one was so quick too.
"Sheriff Tim Bailey of the Marion County (Ohio) Sheriff's Office is hosting a press conference on Tuesday, 4 June 2019 at 10:30am (EST) to release information regarding the identification of the skeletal remains of a female known as "Vicky Dana Jane Doe" found located in northeast Marion County on 10 March 2007.

Sheriff Bailey will be joined by a representative from the DNA Doe Project, who provided assistance with this investigation.

We will share any other information, updates, or live threads here on Facebook (and on this post) as they become available.
