WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Have you seen Michelle Arnold?

Her family members say the 23-year-old woman hasn’t been seen or heard from since October 28 since police called them concerning a welfare check.

*********
“She’s been hospitalized three times this year where she went into a seizure because she hasn’t had her medication or her sugar is too low and she went to work thinking oh, I’ll be okay for the day and then passed out. But nothing has been touched at the home, she hasn’t had her medication and we haven’t heard from her,” said Ebony.

********
Anyone with information about Michelle Arnold’s case is asked to call Warrensville Heights Police at 216-587-6500.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Family Center for Missing Children and Adults on Monday announced they will be hosting a press conference with family members of the Warrensville Heights woman who has been missing for over a month.

(...)

Arnold’s family previously said they were alarmed when Warrensville Heights Police called them following a welfare check.

“Her girlfriend’s cousin called and did a welfare check stating that my sister told her that she loves her so that’s why she called the police to do a welfare check,” Arnold’s sister, Ebony, previously told 19 News reporter Sia Nyorkor. “We went over to the house and everything, her game was paused, my brother’s girlfriend went picked her up and went and got her groceries, all of that food is still at the house, nothing has been touched.”

The press conference is set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 29 at the Cleveland Missing headquarters.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Michelle Arnold’s family has been searching for their loved one for more than a month. On Wednesday, they held a press conference, begging anyone with information to come forward

“There’s no way she would go this amount of time without her medication or being in contact with a pharmacy for a physician,” said Jester.

“It’s the not knowing that's driving us crazy — literally mad — and her health,” said Ebony Arnold, Michelle’s sister.

“My gut tells me hopefully she’s somewhere safe and she comes out okay, but it's been over 30 days now and that’s not good,” said Winston.

But, no matter how much time passes, they're not giving up hope that their "Chell" will come home soon.

“I’m to the point I’m giving it to God, and I hope he’s watching over her, but like everyone said, I don’t wish this upon nobody,” said Jester.

*The 23-year-old Arnold has been missing since Oct. 26. Her loved ones believe a mysterious phone call might provide clues as to her whereabouts.

"They stayed on the phone for a duration of 84 minutes and 21 seconds," Ebony said.
According to Ebony, it was a call from a private number, While no voice was heard, the individual on the line was answering questions through knocks and pressing buttons.

"'If this is 'Shell, press a button,' and we heard a button. We heard a button pressed," Janez Vines, a family friend who was with Ebony when the call came in, told 3News.
"She did say it was her," Ebony added. "She did say that someone did take her and had her in a hotel room."

Though the family knows it could have been anyone, they are holding onto hope that it's a cry for help from Michelle. They drove to the Warrensville Heights police station, but claim the way they were treated was "unacceptable."

With emotions high, they said they pounded on the door, hoping to get an officer to take the call before it was too late.

"I got hit in the head like we had gotten bum-rushed," Ebony recalled. "And they were cussing us out, like, 'We don't care, we don't give an F what you're here for. ... Just don't knock on our door like that.'"

Michelle is the subject of this week's The Vanished podcast:

I just finished listening to the podcast and I'm afraid this story doesn't have a happy ending for Michelle. :(

Given that the informant who shared that Michelle had been killed and buried by the man who is currently behind bars was correct about the other crimes he committed, I think it is just a matter of time before they will be able to link Michelle's disappearance to him as well.

The fact that the girlfriend lied about Michelle spending the night at her house that night, and her being seen on camera following behind Michelle while carrying a bag, then returning alone later, tells me that it was most likely her who had agreed to meet that man to sell him something, and Michelle, armed with her gun, went along for protection. Knowing his alleged MO of meeting people to buy merchandise from FB Marketplace and then robbing/shooting the seller, I can easily see how this might have gone down. Michelle's girlfriend connects with this man on Marketplace to sell something, agrees to meet him somewhere to make the sale, Michelle goes along with her gun to ensure everything goes smoothly, this man tries to rob the women, Michelle pulls out her weapon (or tries) but he's faster, and she ends up dead and buried somewhere in a shallow grave.

The only thing I can't understand is why the girlfriend would just go back to her home and pretend nothing happened, and even lie about Michelle being there that night, instead of calling the police and reporting the murder. The only thing I can think is that she might have been selling something illegal (like a gun, as discussed in the podcast) and she was afraid of implicating herself in something criminal. I can't imagine letting someone get away with murder just to hide something like that, but I know people have covered their own behinds for less.

I hope Michelle's body is found soon, for her family's sake. Listening to her sister's voice break up while talking about the alleged killing/burying broke my heart.

IMO, MOO, etc., etc.

I would guess he threatened her and her family
why would he murder Michelle and leave a witness alive unless she promised on her life not to tell

Ebony Arnold, Michelle’s sister, previously spoke with News 5 about their efforts.

"It's just very heart-wrenching. It's just very scary. It's very overwhelming because I know she would be here if she possibly could," Ebony said. "So it's just like now it's just like what's going on."

As the investigation continues, many questions remain. Authorities are trying to determine what led to Arnold’s death, how her body ended up in East Cleveland, and the circumstances of her discovery.

Nov 14/15, 2024 update

[…]

It states in January of 2024, about five months before Michelle’s remains were found, an anonymous caller contacted Cleveland Heights Police.

According to the documents, the called said a man who’s currently in jail accused in an unrelated crime, who News 5 isn’t naming at this time, “…killed Michelle Arnold in a robbery gone wrong and the body was either on Strathmore or Potomac.”

This seems so solvable. Shocked there hasn't been an arrest yet.
