This poor girl had only just graduated from high school; she had her whole life ahead of her.

The suspect was driving a black Camaro with dark tinted windows. Apparently Na'kia was shot multiple times in her car. Her grandmother was sitting next to her and was not injured.

On Sunday around 1:25 p.m., police were called to the intersection of North Howard Street and East North Street where they found Crawford inside of her vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

Crawford was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her grandmother was in the car with her at the time of the shooting, but was uninjured, police said.

On Monday afternoon, several family members and friends gathered at the scene of the crime, held up signs, chanted for justice and, at times, blocked traffic.

Investigators believe the shots came from the sports car and struck Crawford while she was driving.

No arrests have been made at this time. The homicide remains under investigation.

Family members said Crawford was taking her grandmother to the bank at the time of the deadly shooting.

Lt. Michael Miller said the shooting appeared to be random and did not stem from a road rage incident.

The family plans to offer a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the killer. On top of that, Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.

Police Deputy Chief Jesse Leeser said in a news conference Tuesday that investigators have heard reports that the shooter was a white male, but that information is unconfirmed.

The Laker posted to his Twitter following of more than 46 million to demand “#JUSTICE4Nakia,” who was killed by an unknown gunman Sunday on Akron’s North Side. No arrests have been made, and Summit County Crimestoppers are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information about the shooting.

Curious about all the big name attention to a shooting that is not that unusual. Has it been mentioned whether the victim & shooters car were traveling in the same direction. Whatever the case, it would be difficult to shoot someone in a moving car multiple times. If the facts are correct, this shooter is quit talented.

Akron Police identify three suspects in murder of 18-year-old Na'Kia Crawford, believe shooting was case of mistaken identity

In a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Akron Police Chief Deputy Jesse Lesser announced that warrants had been taken out on the following three suspects.

There is nothing to indicate prior knowledge between Na'Kia and the suspects, according to Lesser. Police believe the shooting was a case of mistaken identity and Crawford found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

• The shooter, 17-year-old Adarus Black of Lakemore, faces a charge of murder. Sources tell 3News that Black has a long juvenile criminal history.
• 18-year-old Jaion Bivins of Akron has been charged with obstruction and tampering with evidence. According to Akron Police Chief Deputy Jesse Lesser, Bivins and his attorney are cooperating with officers and he is expected to turn himself in.
• The third suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Janisha George of Tallmadge. She faces a charge of obstruction of justice.

$50,000 reward offered. I think this is a great idea. If those with great wealth would offer this kind of money or more to induce people to come forward to help solve street crimes it would lessen the burden on law enforcement.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, U.S. Marshals believe the shooter may be being hidden by relatives in or around Detroit. Apparently, the shooter's father is serving life for drug smuggling. He was on the run from LE for years, even getting plastic surgery and altering his fingerprints.
