Missing Elyria man with dementia may be lost, driving car

A man from Elyria left his home Tuesday morning, and hasn’t been seen since.

Peter Mathis, 61, is 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighs 309 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Mathis suffers from Dementia and other medical issues, and he may be driving a black, 2016 Ford Focus with OH plate number 719XSG.

Missing Elyria man found in Michigan

Elyria police spokesman Capt. Chris Costantino said 61-year-old Peter Mathis was found safe in Utica, Michigan, a small city north of Detroit and a nearly three-hour drive from Elyria.
