Angela does not seem to like her lawyers and they probably do not like her. Her handwritten request for change of counsel.

Given AW is the only defendant with a chance for release at parole (per the plea agreement), she best quit her whining! Why is she making a fuss now-- long after the ink is already dry?

Yes she waited too long to say anything.

She has no chance at parole, she has a fixed 30 year sentence. She has a full 25 years to go.

I wonder what judge will sentence her? I suppose the judge could go against the plea agreement and say she has 30 years but with a chance to come up for parole before then, but it would make no sense for him to do that.

She should be in for life.

Correct, not parole, I meant to say the only defendant with a chance for release. And yes, she's as guilty as if she aimed and pulled the trigger and should also be serving a life term. JMO

Yes she should be!!!!

We can tell from the testimony that she instigated it.

She told Billy to watch things at the Rhodens because of abuse Angela was lying about. She said he didn't want to and she convinced him something bad was going on, she lit the match for that night.

We also hear her on the phone insisting to Jake that his wife is unsafe even after S said she made things up.
She insisted the Rhodens were unsafe.

Just 2 examples.

And her motive as evidenced by how she treated her grandson, she being called mom and getting rid of his real mother. Also being jealous of the step mom being called mom.

2 Cents

How old is AW now? Is she likely to live to the end of her sentence?

I think she's currently 52. If she has 25 more years to make a 30-year sentence, she could possibly make it out.

And there you have it folks. How a mother was able to manipulate her husband and sons into killing 8 innocent people.

To those who still believe, after reading that pity party statement that Angie wrote to the judge, that AW was not at the scene of the crimes that night to make sure her instructions were carried out to the letter, all I got to say is there is a sucker born every minute.

Nash questioned Angela on the dynamics within the family. Angela conceded that, in the Wagner household, there was a lot of yelling and loud disagreements and said Billy was sometimes physically abusive; on Wednesday, she testified that Billy, on more than one occasion, choked George.

Billy also threatened to force Angela to accompany him during the murder spree, she said.

Billy doled out instructions on what to do leading up to the homicides, she said, including telling her to send texts from George and Jake's phones to make it look like they were home during the homicides. Nash accused her of only sending the alibi messages for Jake, not George, but she denied that.

"I am pretty sure I did both phones," she said.

The night her sons and husband headed out to murder the Rhodens, Nash pointed out Angela had never noticed the sound of the pick-up truck leaving their property and can't testify to who fired shots and who did not, or the weapons used.

He used that to segue into a history of dishonesty displayed by Angela; she'd admitted Wednesday that she had called law enforcement on Tabitha on one occasion and lied, telling them she had drugs in her vehicle in order to sway the custody battle between her and George.

Then, Nash said, Angela lied and dragged her own mother into the murders.

He referenced her Wednesday testimony, when she said she'd taken her plea deal out of the hopes it would provide her an avenue to someday see her children and grandchildren again, suggesting she would lie during George's trial to be able to accomplish this goal. Nash said this showed she was interested in protecting herself and her own interests and had no regard for her mother or sons.

"Would you agree with me that four years for every life you took was a great deal?" Nash asked.

"That's not how I understand it," replied Angela.

Wow....
I want to know what everyone thinks of this!
All about how she feels, how unfair things are... for pages and pages, until she finally claims she thinks her attorney has a "conflict of interest." Seems like if she really believed that, she'd have led with that instead of whining about her little feefees for pages. And then going back to crying about feeling belittled and her "trauma."

"I am not a nuance" ;)

Angela does not seem to like her lawyers and they probably do not like her. Her handwritten request for change of counsel.

"He (attorney Mark Hunt) told me he couldn't come see me because there was nothing he could do for me".

Angela signed a plea deal, admitting to her involvement and giving testimony in her son George's trial. She'll probably testify in Billy's trial, too. Because she confessed and was granted some relief on her sentence, its probably very difficult to change her plea.

Defense attorneys like Hunt probably don't have big budgets. Clients in jail can cost them a lot of money when they frequently call collect from jail or prison wanting to talk about their case. Those calls are very expensive.

Angela has demonstrated in the past that she thinks rules and laws shouldn't apply to her. Discussing her case with co-defendants in recorded phone calls from jail was a rule she deliberately broke numerous times. JMO, there are probably quite a few inmates who pester their public defenders this way. I did some volunteer work in a defense attorney's office long ago. They told me not to answer the phone and let it go to voice mail because they frequently got these calls. Just answering and taking a message was quite expensive.

If the judge assigns her new attorneys, her current team will probably appreciate it. JMO

Shorter version: A lot of inmates do this.

Yes! But I think AW skipped the part where she fires her attorney and next tries to represent herself (for about 15 minutes). ;)

I still cannot believe this horrible event was just because of a custody dispute. An entire family wiped out over such a petty thing. In my opinion, no plea deals should have been offered.

Yes, Angie is looking a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak, if she wants to challenge her plea deal.

Don't forget, her husband, Billy, tried to do that a couple of years ago. He was going to defend himself.

Just a thought: Perhaps try to live a life where you don't need a criminal defense attorney. Perhaps, try to live a life where you are not committing arson for insurance fraud. Perhaps try to live a life where you are not part of a criminal organization that steals fuel. Or more importantly, try to live a life where you plan, organize, and try to cover up the murder of 8 people. I just find it interesting that she had to lie at some point when she was committing insurance fraud. She Lied many, many times when BCI had talked to her when she was trying to coverup her involvement in the murders. Now she is upset because her attorney "lied" to her. Karma. With the deal she got, no judge will agree she had ineffective counsel. Again, she should have lived a life where she would have no need for a criminal defense attorney.
