I've got a gaming laptop w/a large screen and I see what you are talking about. Idk what it is but it is moving rather unwieldy, am I right?

Maybe, I don't see much happening except forward movement, it may stop moving at times.

Maybe I used the wrong term, it reminds me of an object being moved over uneven territory.

Was thinking maybe the truck is there to stop it from tipping over, and it's already creased the driver's door.

The box makes me think of the containers used to ship ATVs, motorcycles lawn tractors, etc., but it looks awfully tall and they're usually just covered with cardboard or shrink wrap. It appears more solid than that. Those black bands are too wide as well. It's something more substantial.

Question. Does anyone know if a "safe" was listed anywhere in the discovery documents?

Not so far. Just on a sheriff's invoice (posted several months back) having to do with the expenditures on the case. A company had to be paid to move the safe (and other items as necessary).

If it was going to be used in one of the trials, would it have to be listed in discovery?

I'm just wondering because I also remember discussion about an invoice for a safe but I don't remember if it was ever confirmed.

I found a post with a link to a receipt for a safe.

See thread #44, post #146.

Yes, if presented as evidence at trial it must be disclosed in the discovery documents. That's why there are so many terabytes of discovery evidence, everything must be disclosed.

"..During a pretrial for Wagner IV’s mother, Angela Wagner, who also faces the death penalty, Deering said it was his understanding some four terabytes of information still needed to be delivered by the prosecution to Angela Wagner’s defense team. As previously noted by the Daily Times, one terabyte of information is enough to hold 500 hours worth of movies.."

I believe the large safe was secured inside CR's trailer, a contractor was paid to do that.. Wasn't the invoice pretty high for that part of the operation? $5000-11,000?

$20,200

One thing I never noticed is that the big white barn, looks to have open spaces on the back side. Idk if they wanted it that way, or if it had torn it down, as part of the process, by the time the cameras got there. Another thing I noticed, is that the black barn, starting @ 1:25, has major activity around it. That barn is hard to see too. That might be where they kept the plants. I think what they were rolling around is chicken house barrel to get it out of the way.
I don't know if the back of the large white barn was intentionally left open or if it was not finished for some reason. It looks like there may be a white barn door on the ground at the open side. Somewhere in the back they found a pig in a barn or shed of some kind. It may have been in that dark colored barn. My opinions only...

If you see the silver truck moving ... You don't see the white 'box' with black bands moving with the truck?

edit: The box looks to be taller than the hood of the truck. Also, the side of the truck looks caved in ... from the box?

If you watch the video at the beginning, there are two white trucks along the road. I think those are "crime scene investigation" trucks. That may be what you are seeing. They may have drove one back there to have access to the equipment. The silver truck, might be a 4x4 and may have been following it in case it got stuck. My opinions only...

Try 1:40 to 2:10. I doubt anyone can make it out if using a phone or tablet. It's in the right side of the shot, ends up closer to the bunny suit guys.

edit - Seems strange, this early on the 22nd, and they are moving something out already? This report was at 12:49pm on April 22, even before KR was found. Bottom of the screen says "2 adults, 5 children killed".

I've been watching it on a 20" monitor. I think it may be a crime scene truck...

I wonder how the conversation went at the planning stage in regards to the three babies?
'Ok so once we have shot all eight in the head what about the babies?'
'Well, let's just leave them with the rotting corpses, someone will find them eventually' . Nasty, evil people. Moo

I don't see anything at your links, but I know the building you're referring to. It's the smaller grey colored shed behind the trailer.

You can see it in this video, with two investigators looking inside.

Marijuana 'grow operations' found at Ohio slaying sites - CNN

That may be one of the spots, I also thought that rectangular patch on the top of the shed looked like a sky lite or something similar.

We also speculated, though, that at that time of year, they would still need some kind of electrical wiring to any outbuilding used as a grow op. Just prior to the murders, the temperatures still would have been getting pretty low at night, enough to possibly freeze any plants, esp seedlings. Could be CR1 used kerosene stoves or something on those nights. He was a master gardener, that's for sure. Apparently the brothers learned a lot from their dad about cultivating vegetable gardens and fruit trees. CR1 would know how to "harden off" seedlings:

9 Steps to Harden Off Seedlings

Not sure if this is what he was doing or if his grow op was set up to grow MJ plants indoors only.

ETA: The usual disclaimer - we'll find out more at the trial, but it doesn't appear any info about the Rhoden MJ grow ops is included in discovery. As DeWine said, they weren't the motive for the murders, it was an obsession with child custody.

As we've also said here many times before, growing some MJ is no excuse for murdering a family of 8 people who had committed no other crimes. The Rhodens were hard working people who took care of themselves and their family members. They had no serious criminal records (other than routine traffic violations, etc.) They didn't deserve the horrific, bloody massacre that rained down on them while sleeping in their homes.

I'd wager if Chris, Sr and his brother Kenneth were alive today, they would be running or working at one of the now-legal grow ops in their area. They were highly skilled horticulturists.

I'd wager that, had they not

No, not that we've seen. There was a cell phone photo of something like that floating around on the internet a couple of years ago, but no verifiable link. May have just been a rumor or something.

I found a post with a link to a receipt for a safe.

See thread #44, post #146.

It's popped up here a few times over the years, but we usually have Mods delete it, since there's no verification for it. It may or may not be authentic.

Mention of a safe hasn't shown up in any of the discovery documents. One would think if it existed and was important to the case, it would be listed. But it isn't.

No disrespect but, no not at all, IMO. None of those BCI trucks have black bands across the top, and it's smaller than a BCI truck.

Good work finding that invoice evelezrn.

I think maybe the back of the new barn was just unfinished, maybe awaiting some doors.
