My theory is that they placed the GPS on the truck and any other vehicles during that time.

I remember that day, we probably all remember where we were when we found out. So my son comes to me and says "mom you know that case there was an arrest it's the Wagners it's on the news. " I love going back and reading WS at that time (I wasn't on Websleuths then) to see what ya'all were saying!

And this shock goes through my system, I couldn't get on line fast enough! It was surreal watching this press confrence, imagine how Tony felt when asked about it and he said "it's alot to take in."

Before I found WS I actually read this on line from a local ---and am kicking myself that I can't find it---
so consider it my opinion only:

" There was resistance from her (Angela) at first when she was told to change into her jail clothes, she didn't want to change her clothes and she said she shouldn't be there (something like that) but eventually she did it. "

Wow. I find this believable in my opinion. That she would act like she is innocent and they are making a big mistake arresting her. We know she refuses to be controlled and calls all the shots. Well she used to. Complete 180°

At around 10:12 above, I recall Charlie's remark very well that he felt there were people who knew things but were afraid to talk. Charlie says people had great fear of meeting the same end as the Rhodens. JMO he may have been referring to JM.

On the second anniversary of the Rhoden family massacre: 'I still got a lot of hate'

LM was still very angry with BCI in 2018 2nd anniversary interview, well after the "laser focus" and the Wags still in AK.

Back to the April 2017 PC above - JMO BCI still suspected that JM was involved in the murders because they had data showing a text w/JW that night. JW was probably still telling lies, pointing the finger at JW when LE interviewed him the week before and probably asked him about this. JW and AW had been feeding BCI lies from day 1, JMO, accusing the Manley family and probably other Rhoden family members and friends. BCI didn't know who to believe. Somewhere around then, the lead BCI agent discovered whatever it was that cracked the case. Possibly that JW was hacking someone's cell phone or FB messaging account.

I still don't fully understand what BCI hoped to accomplish with the trackers on the two vehicles, unless it was just a ruse to arrest JM and get him to talk about what he knew. Whatever it was they learned, BCI didn't have any good news for the Manleys, as LM was still angry with them 1 year later.

JMO, that first anniversary and JM's arrest was a real low point. It seemed BCI was still obsessed with pinning it on family members because it fit the profile of "family annihilator" bs. I still think JM and possibly others came very close to being arrested and convicted of murders they didn't commit. BCI didn't want to suspect the family of Boss Hogg. They lived close to the cross, etc.

Pretty sure JW's truck had one, also. Actually, it's possible other trackers were placed on trucks in the area. We won't know unless it comes up in trials. Just guessing there were more than a few.

Yes, it was frustrating how little BCI seemed to know at that point. There's a different vibe from CR, more as if he had suspects in mind. He was learning a lot from tips and the interviews and he gives the impression he's on to someone. They were actually so close at that point, it's amazing it took them over a year to finally make arrests.

ETA: It also reminds us again how some people sharing info reached a point where they held back because of concerns about drug (probably MJ) trafficking. I say that because DeWine gave that answer after some of the questions reporters asked about the grow ops.

Digital evidence has given them probable cause to do the searches. They see a spreadsheet of 500 custody messages and evidence of computer hacking.
Zero evidence is turning up from the tracker on Jame's truck. He is just running errands, working, visiting and going out with friends. LE turns suspicion towards the Wagners.

May 16, 2017:
James is arrested for destroying the tracker.

Not enough evidence turned up in the searches to arrest the Wagners, they need more information from James. His attorney said in the media that he thinks what they are doing is putting pressure on James to get more information from him. It is at this time they accuse him of failing the lie detector test and that might not even be true, they can lie, they are using it as leverage to pressure and get information.

All 4 Wagners are interviewed. This is the one and only time GW4 is interviewed from what we can see.

The tracker on James and his interviews and the lie detector test have brought them zilch. They are now focusing heavily on the Wagners.
The searches turned up some interesting physical evidence they did not see in the digital evidence such as Boondock Saints, burned VCR, reciepts, 1911.22 gun, etc..

LE discusses all this with the Wagners including Jame's involvement and becomes aware they are lying through their teeth. The Wagner's excuses don't all match each other and they are contradicting themselves.

Also this could be when they saw the scorpion tattoo which I do not believe was done until 2017.

The charges against JM are dropped.

Laser focus is now on the Wagners with their ineffective conflicting accounts and excuses and with the circumstantial evidence building up against them. Now LE has no reason to keep James under arrest. The next month the laser focus comes out to the public and all heck breaks loose on social media. Jame's previous charges are never brought before the GJ.

I think that CR did know that day and they staged that press conference for the W's. The W's had to be shaking in their boots to know JW was interviewed on the same day as that Press Conference with Mike DeWine and CR. jmo

I didn't realize I had the wrong press conference when I posted earlier and did not realize JW was interviewed that same day, this was planned to shake them up I agree. It would also show LE is not buying their story that it is cartel related. I am guessing the defense is pinning the murders on drug dealers. This would also get the Wagners to talk amongst themselves, I bet wires were planted at Freds during the May 12 - 13 2017 searches.

It seems like a huge leap. I would think the warrant would say “to monitor the activities of”. I don’t know the answer.. Just an opinion.

I looked up the rule out of curiosity for an idea of how broad it might be.

2933.23 Search warrant affidavit.
A search warrant shall not be issued until there is filed with the judge or magistrate an affidavit that particularly describes the place to be searched, names or describes the person to be searched, and names or describes the property to be searched for and seized; that states substantially the offense in relation to the property and that the affiant believes and has good cause to believe that the property is concealed at the place or on the person; and that states the facts upon which the affiant's belief is based. The judge or magistrate may demand other and further evidence before issuing the warrant. If the judge or magistrate is satisfied that grounds for the issuance of the warrant exist or that there is probable cause to believe that they exist, he shall issue the warrant, identifying in it the property and naming or describing the person or place to be searched.

A search warrant issued pursuant to this chapter or Criminal Rule 41 also may contain a provision waiving the statutory precondition for nonconsensual entry, as described in division (C) of section 2933.231 of the Revised Code, if the requirements of that section are satisfied.

Right. They could not put a tracker on Jame's truck just by lies Jake tells. I think other factors were involved in the probable cause affidavit but too late to edit my post.

I do believe Jake lied to implicate James but it wouldn't be mentioned in the probable cause warrant. So thankx for this point I overlooked. Jake and James seem awfully closely tied together at this point. Texts, interviews, arrest, searches, dropping charges, they seemed to be looking at both of them with Jake making the case against James.

Maybe James even told them more details of the custody fight.

If it wasn’t for the statement below stating “truck and means”, and the transfers of the truck title around the murders, I could easily pass the whole situation off as not important and chalk it up to them just watching James at the time. But it seems like it was in fact the truck they were interested in at that time. JMO

Don’t you think it to easy for JM to find the tracker, it was like a couple days after BCI installed it, JMO But I think the Wagners had one of the Victims phones that was in the pounded as evidence or something of the BCI had found that the Wagners to listen to the Rhodens with and the BCI found it, the BCI was talking around the bug or maybe a person that the Wagners had on the payroll that was Law Enforcement and that was how the BCI narrows it down who the killers where , I believe the Wagners told JM where the tracker was, JMO

While we wait for trials/justice, 3 Wags are due in court in February.
