I'm not sure about the state you live in, but in Oklahoma gun shows, flea market and Armslist do not require a back ground check. I have bought and sold several guns at all three. We are not criminals or any thing underground, my husband enjoyed buying and selling firearms. You also do not need a license to buy or sell your personal collection in Oklahoma.
It’s the same here in South Carolina. You only need to register a gun if you plan to use it as your concealed carry (for which a license is obviously required).

My dad was a teacher and loaned the custodian at his school some money one day. The guy hadn’t been able to pay him back, so he offered my dad a revolver on the day that he retired and he accepted. I couldn’t believe my dad would take possession of a gun from a man that he barely knew. I said, “What if he killed someone with that gun!” My dad just shrugged and was like it doesn’t matter because I don’t have to register it.

Gary was shot IN THE FACE. Low sobs!

What is the significance of him being shot in the face? HG was also shot in the face multiple times including once in the eye.

"Also found dead in the trailer was his cousin, Gary Rhoden, 38. He was shot twice in the head and once in the face. With one of the shots, the reports indicate the gun was pressed against the side of his head, leaving a "muzzle stain.""

"Hannah Gilley, who was shot five times in the face and head."

Hypothetically speaking, if RN gets a good deal from her plea agreement in court before the 4 Wagners' trials it could mean she no longer has any incentive to give helpful, important testimony to help convict them. It would be questionable for a prosecutor to agree to such an arrangement.

Plea agreements usually hinge on helpful testimony and/or evidence. The quality of the defendant's testimony and information provided determines how good a deal they get after they've testified in court.

If you go back to RN's last hearing when she agreed to a plea deal, Judge Deering told her at the end that her sentence will depend on how well she cooperates and that, for any reason, she can still be tried on the original charges and receive a sentence. IOW, he told her that her plea deal can be revoked if she doesn't cooperate.

So has anyone seen the new filings appointing Angela canepa as special prosecutor? Thoughts? I thought she resigned?

IIRC, from one of the recent articles about her leaving it was said she would still help out with the Wagner prosecutions in the interim.

Can someone please share the link about this? It would be encouraging to me to read. I've Googled and can't find.

GR helped CRSR making and installing decks at BBL. Wasn't there an altercation between GW3 and CRSR there? I believe it was mentioned by LE that there were a couple of fights that they didn't know had occured. GW3's discovery mentions BBL and custody txts. I suppose it's possible that GR got involved in an altercation, backing up his cousin. Could be why at least one W would have a grudge against GR in particular.

HHG just by the fact that her brother was little KR's father would also seem to be enough to upset at least one W very, very much, IMO.

Yes there was much rage shown in these murders by the number of shots and bruises...except to HR and KR. Both were shown a bit leniency compared to the other victims.

I wonder if the prosecution will be able to pinpoint who committed which murder through forensics or if that kind of information will never be proven conclusively.

To the best of my knowledge, no proof of a fight between GW3 and CRsr has been noted by a reliable source than can be quoted.
It is still only rumor unless it is mentioned by MSM, in an interview, or a police report.

It was mentioned by I believe Sheriff Reader, that fights had happened, involving the Rhoden family, that hadn't been reported to LE. (so not the fight with FR and CRJR knocking teeth out, the caravan that was met by Rhoden family members or the road rage with CRJR...all reported on).

I'm theorizing now in hindsight of arrests and discovery disclosed as to who was possibly involved in other altercations...AJMO.

Family and friends did however speak to media about one fight but didn't say the actual location where the confrontation happened. That it could have happened at BBL is just my theorizing.

There was this mentioned, which specifically mentions BBL...

"Also in the list of evidence being handed to defense attorneys for Billy Wagner are cell tower records from his phone.

The document shows records for March 2016 and April 2016. Listed under those records is "Big Bear Lake (1 excel sheet)."

Documents: ATF files report on item pulled from well, Wagner family arrested a week later

Yes, it appears GW3 spent a lot of time around Big Bear Lake. No indication in the evidence that he got into a fight, though. We'll see what comes out at trial.

I wonder who will go to trial first?

Whoever goes to trial first.....I think it will take weeks and weeks to select a jury.

Probably not weeks, but a few days. The defense has dragged out the pretrial phase for 3 years, so the public wants things to move along. The risks themselves probably won't last long, either.

Relatives of some of the victims describe the relationship differently. They said Jake Wagner and his dad argued and fought with the Rhodens in the weeks just prior to the killings.

Jake Wagner balked at that: “No, I did not go to Hanna’s home three weeks prior to April 22 and kick in the door demanding she sign over custody of Sophia. "

Neighbors and some family members have said that Jake and Hanna were involved in a contentious custody dispute related to Sophia at the time of the killings.

Rhoden family member told WLWT that Jake Wagner tried to get Hanna to sign over her rights to Sophia weeks before the murders. The Rhoden family said she refused to do so.

As one example of the motions argued Tuesday October 8, 2019, Jake Wagner's attorney Gregory Meyers asked the court not to allow the prosecution to mention his client’s alleged previous behavior during his murder trial.

“There is some evidence Mr. Wagner was violent with one of the victims prior to the murders,” said state Special Prosecutor Angela Canepa, seemingly indicating the prosecution wants to present that alleged incident as part of the case against Wagner.

Canepa also mentioned in the hearing that there are some theft issues and other acts/information.
