I'm very far from being an electronic expert, too. But I did a quick google search and found that an old VCR machine can be used for surveillance, if one knows how to do it. Your question is a very good one - why did they try to destroy the whole VCR machine in a burn pit? The only reason I can think of why they might have done this is because perhaps the VCR machine itself was evidence. JMO.

Perhaps the Wags damaged it and knew they couldn't leave it there. Probably in a hurry.

It will probably come out during the trials.

I've done numerous searches regarding the burned VCR machine and the video clip from Boondock Saints. It isn't clear whether Boondock Saints was or wasn't in the VCR when the machine was burned, unless I've missed something.

Why burn a VCR machine if it was only used for watching videos? The W's were tampering with and destroying evidence. Hopefully, we get some clarity about the significance of the burned VCR machine during the trials and whether the VCR machine itself was evidence. All JMO.

I hope a lot of this comes out eventually. The bad part will be how much the Ws say will be true. They don’t have a good track record of being truthful. My opinion only...

I'm not sure they'll take the stand. Any thoughts on who will and who won't testify (of the W4)?

That's a really good question. I have a feeling that JW will want to testify. He's such a narcissist. At one point, I would have said the same about his mother Angela, but I'm not so sure anymore. If you compare the videos of her at the beginning of the pre-trial process vs today, she doesn't have that confidence anymore and seems more depressed.

You can count on Fredericka to get up there and give a sermon about her family and how evil the prosecutors are for victimizing them. Not sure if she will bring up ISIS again.

Someone said RN's plea agreement specifies she won't have to testify, I'll have to double check that, though.

JMO, I don't see either Billy or GW4 testifying and I doubt their attorneys will want them to.

Members of the Rhoden & Manley families will probably be called. It will be very difficult for them. Also, some of the Rhoden friends who were the last to see or talk to them that terrible night - Brently's mom, DS, Kenneth's daughter, Kendra, etc.

I hope they all get a lot of support because the trial is going to be very hard on them. I can't imagine how hard it will be for James Manley and his sister BJM. That will be hard to watch.

Has there been a decision made as to where all the trials will be held? I recall earlier discussions that the trials could be moved to larger cities for several reasons such as broader jury pool and more funding availability. I know that it would be very difficult for the Rhoden/Manley/Gilley family members to travel for the trial so I hope they are local. Thanks.

Yes, there was discussion of how the trials would be managed, but there hasn't been any news on that front for some time. It's not even known yet which trial would be held first. The prosecution is probably hoping to get another of the family members to take a plea agreement in exchange for information and testimony. Angela Wagner's mother, Rita Jo Newcomb made such an agreement last December to avoid going to trial.

The pre-trial phase for the other Wagners is drawing out very slowly. There's some hope trials can begin in late fall or at least before the end of 2020.

So they're still dragging this out? Why do they need a continuance? They have to have a valid reason.

This is getting ridiculous. Maybe it's time for Judge Deering to have a serious talk with these defense attorneys about getting this trial moving.

IMO, Billy's attorneys are just stalling until after they see the evidence presented at Jake & George's August Pre-Trials. That will give them an idea about where the other Defense attorney's strategy's are headed.

Angie also has no official future court dates.

I can only imagine after many long months in jail, one of the four is going to/has cracked. Until then, it appears to be a game of "Blink" and "Hot Potato".

Big IMO here, at some point the four groups of defense attorneys will realize they all can't save all of the W4, the evidence is just too overwhelming. At that point it will be every man/attorney for themselves.

Regardless of the W4's guilt or innocence the defense attorneys have their professional reputations on the line.....

Maybe if that is needed, putting some distance to find a less in the know jury pool, maybe someone like that restauranteur who at first put up reward money will come forward to help them afford accommodations near wherever the venue may be.
