Okay - I will put him there for the time being & make it a Motions hearing until I hear any different from you! And thanks! :)
I had another source that I also checked with, other than the court, they told me that it was a hearing for some of G4 motions and that the media would be there to cover it.

Jury process underway in George Wagner murder trial in Pike County

James Pilcher, WKRC - 7h ago

WAVERLY, Ohio (WKRC) – Questionnaires went out to prospective jurors in the murder case of George Wagner IV earlier this month. Final answers were due back almost two weeks ago.'

It's the official start of the biggest trial ever here in Pike County.

In-person jury selection begins on August 8 and will last about two weeks. 12 jurors and alternates will be chosen starting August 29.

Opening statements are set to begin immediately after that.

None of the lawyers are going on camera before the trial due to the gag order put in place by Common Pleas Court Judge Randy Deering.

As for those jury instructions, the clerk's office said they are not part of the public record after I asked them.

Local 12 is objecting to that decision. We believe it's important that the public know what questions prospective jurors were asked. Our lawyers have sent a letter to Judge Deering asking him to release the records.
If this is a recent picture, I am surprised that his usual entourage of heavily armed agents have disappeared.

Thoughts anyone?

Probably old pic because here he is surrounded by security...... With an officer grabbing his arm and the officer's wearing bullet proof vests.

And if anyone wants to walk down memory lane here is Angie under high alert security the day of her confession, complete with being put into a law enforcement van, you can see her sitting in the van.... not happy.

The special judge is involved in one hearing is all. The trial will be presided over by judge Deering.

Canepa and all those who have been with her will be there to prosecute the case. There is Canepa, Junk, and at least one other male prosecutor who did alot of talking at the last hearing.

A Motion was posted that appears to be allowing news cameras in court to video it but a witness can choose to not be videoed or recorded.

See page 26 Covert Operative posted this Motion.

Hopefully I will be able to get a seat for this trial and attend most days. ;) That or transform myself into a tiny object no one would notice. :D

"In some situations, the court may also decide that the defendant cannot be present in the courtroom while you give evidence. In that case, the defendant will either sit in another room where he or she can hear your testimony, or your statement will be read aloud to the defendant when you have finished testifying."

That's what I was told also. These late motions are ridiculous. JMO

This may be how they handle some witnesses who refuse to be on camera while giving testimony. MOO. G'nite E1.

I would love to be in the court room during the trail but I am 1 hour and 30min away. Plus I don't want to use vacation days. So I'm hoping someone gets good coverage.

It seems to me that court tv will be there.

I'm counting down the days now. I would have loved to be able to attend but doubt I could sit still for so long at the moment, health issue. Yes, I'd have to fly in and book a place to stay, but what the heck. I am at times quite impulsive, like the time a few years ago I wanted to go to Memphis to visit Gracelands and do some trips to see what was where.
Husband said if you want to go book up. Four days later I was on a plane and stayed at Heartbreak Hotel. What a visit that was.

Fortunately I am only 15 miles from there, and can hopefully trade off work schedule so I can work night shift for a couple of weeks. If not, I'll figure it out. Where there's a will, there's always a way. :D

For those of you who may not be familiar with these bolded terms it simply means spectators have to remain behind the wooden railing and not go beyond it.

Partition= Wooden railing.
Gallery= spectator seating, media, etc.
Proper= defendant, attorneys, judge, baliff, court stenographers and witnesses when summoned etc.

Right. Why be there by 9:00am for a 1:00pm hearing?

I wonder if this hearing will be done live like all the others. It's listed like the other hearings we have seen.

Local 12 WKRC Cincinnati normally does the hearings live.

Called court clerk. She said it is at 1:00pm and opened to family/public and could be televised like the other hearings. Said she hasn't heard anything different. Said it is a regular motion hearing, nothing to do with jury selection.

So if we are lucky we will get to see this hearing or at least read an article about it and see something on the docket about it etc....

According to the Decorum Motion the media can't record the Voir Dire but they can sit in on it and report about it, then we could hear something about it next week when I think Voir Dire starts. They also get to report on the composition of the jury, number of males and females and other demographic information.

From docket:

August 8, 2022 through August 12, 2022 - each day beginning at 9 o'clock a.m. - individual voir dire. August 15, 2022 through August 19, 2022 - each day beginning at 9 o'clock a.m. - individual voir dire.

ORDER REGARDING MEDIA PARTICIPATION AND GENERAL DECORUM
